Ten years ago, I was in the US and the internet was not as widespread as it is now, specially in the Philippines. I always used the phone to communicate with my loved ones here and it would cost me around 200 dollars a month in phone bills. Not having a regular communications with them made my stay there quite lonely and when I had the chance to come back home, I took it. And until now I have not gone back there to the US. If the internet as it is now, was already present way back then, I would not have spent that much money, nor I would have been so lonely then. Now you can not only speak to your loved one, using the internet, but most importantly, you can see them! You don't have to imagine that mole in your wife's chin, you don't have to look through your mind's eye at your children and wonder how they are growing, you don't have to wait for pictures through the mail, just to see how much improved your house is since you sent them money to repair your house. But then, with the webcam, it is indeed hard to hide the tears from your family because they can see you clearly, in real time. It is now harder to conceal the emotion or your voice because they are watching you wipe your eyes as you deny crying. In the coming years, I can see that more and more people would be using the internet not as an entertainment tool, but as a personal communication tool, to bridge the gap between people separated by their desire to improve their lives by going abroad to work.

Yes, Internet will surely go down in history as one of the most revolutionary technologies of the 20th century. Its great that with Intenet we can meet and interact with people all over the world, buy things sitting at your home, make friends, share knowledge and information. Who would have thought all of this would be possible, a few decades ago. Thus, technology is one thing that we just cannot predict because anything that looks impossible today might be possible tomorrow. Who knows, in the next few decades we might even be able to transmit people from one place to another, which has been the dream of many scientists. We might even be able to travel through time. Many scientists are obsessed with the idea of time travel. Anything that we can imagine today might be a possible tomorrow.

Yes, the revolution of information technology makes the worlds becomes more smaller. Now, we all can discuss what ever topic we choose. We can listen all their point of view on such topic. That's great evolusion. I hope in the future, web feature through stream video will more useful for information and communication to all over the world.
