Shouls Lexis nexis be prohibited from allowing access to public information?

Using data mining ,it is possible not only to capture information that has been buried in disatant courthouses,but also to manipulate and cross-index it .This can benfit law enforcement but invade privacy.In 1996 Lexis nexis the information service was accused of permitting access to sensitive information on individuals.The company argued that the firm is targeted unfairly since it provided only basic residential data for lawyers and law enforcement personnel.Should lexis nexis be prohibted from allowing access to such information or not
