What do you do while waiting?

Waiting is so much a waste of time. If you're not doing anything, the time seems to go on so much more slowly. It does not matter whether it's waiting for your turn at a doctor's or dentist's clinic, or waiting for a connecting flight, or even waiting for your date to show up. It is just so boring. So what do you do to make the waiting easier? In my case, I bring my palm handheld along, and while waiting, I write. Or play games. Or read an ebook. If the waiting area provided newspapers or magazines, I read the available reading materials.. What do you do to while away the time spent in waiting?

i wish i have a more hmm.. updated gadget that would likewise allow me to do some light reading (pdf files) or surf and chat while waiting. and since i don't have any, i can be a very observant person and try to look at people or things around me. sometimes things you overhear or see can be really funny and entertaining :D

i usually read a book or a magazine. i sometimes play games on my cellphone or palm handheld. but if i am with a friend or family while waiting, i'd rather chat away! :)

Chatting is a good way to pass the time, so having someone with you makes the waiting so much easier!

i normally irritate strangers by chatting when i have nothing to do except wait for a bus or train..and i enjoy making my co-passenger tired by my chats..:)

i always took an appointment with a doctor well before so that i dont have to wait much time. in case i have wait i just flip through the pages of the magzines lying there or talk to others who are waiting like me about their problem and know something.

If I know I am in for some wait, I will bring along a book if possible. Otherwise I will bring along my headset so that I can listen to some music. Or if there are so tasks that can be completed during that time, I may do them if possible.

One of the things I hate is waiting: waiting for something to happen, waiting for someone to arrive, waiting for the next paycheck, waiting for the food in a restaurant, waiting for the wife to get out of the bathroom so I can do my thing, waiting for just about anything and everything. This is one of my weaknesses and I can't wait to get over this. I have also been praying for patience and I want it now. So what does this say about me? I'd rather read another book, than wait for the friend who borrowed my best seller to return it. I'd rather go to a fast food restaurant and have my burger at once, than sit in a fancy one and wait half an hour for them to serve my soup. I'd rather walk the stairs to the fifth floor than wait in line for the next elevator, that's going down to basement 5 of the building. I'd rather respond to some worthy discussion in mylot, than wait for my business partner to answer my email just a minute ago.

You're a pretty impatient person, but then waiting is so much a waste of time, right? However, sometimes we can't help it, so we just try to make maximum use of the time :).

Waiting csn really takes it's toll even to the most patient person. We are now so fast paced now that waiting for just a while can really tick us off. I rarely like to grab a magazine to read when i am waiting, i would opt to relax my mind and think of he things i have yet to do and try to plan them as soon as the "wait" is over. Small talk to my neighbor if i find something good to chat about is also a good way to while away my time, i learn a lot from the person and maybe i could share something to the person if i may. I just love to talk! :)
