How do you rate a Plus or Minus for a discussion?

i have posted many disscussions.i dont know how others have rated me.a few days back my star ratin gone down to 3 from 5 . so i put a discussion on how this star rating is done.the response was very good. From it got that the rating done by other users of mylot is used for star rating . now to improve my star rating i think my discussions and response should attract other users..
so please help me know how you rate + or - to a discussion or response.
surely this discussion will help others too to get maximum rating..

Personally, i don;t think I have ever given a negative rating in any of my posts, however, I do agree that some responses deserve negative ratings, but I ignore those ones at times.

Never rating neagtive or reporting things that should be is NOT following mylots guidelines. Check the do's and don'ts list to see for yourself.

Hello aliyaa....
All anyone needs to do is read the do's and don'ts list to see what should be rated negatively or reported.
Mylot needs and requests our help locating the garbage that needs to be removed.
If the crap postings are not removed, they earn the same as quality postings. HOW IS THIS FAIR ??????????
