…so, should we refrain from bed ??

Some ppl are overcautious. They would ensure everything and anything before traveling or even before going to sleep. I feel, life is a risk and waking up in the morn is a fortune. With increasing number of fatal accidents on road, air and water, are you fearful of going out from houses, the only possible, apparently safe recluse? However, research shows that 90% of ppl die on bed. So, does that mean we stop sleeping altogether!!! I was just wondering, how many of you are a risk taker, in the true sense or you just prefer quiet, safe recluse ??

I take precautions, wherever and whenever I can. But I also believe whatever has to happen will happen... I cannot stop it. I believe..."hope for the best and be prepared for the worst". I also, like you, when get up every morning, thank GOD that I am alive and safe. In this complex and uncertain world anything can happen to us anytime and anywhere.... so no use of worrying too much.

i agree totally. i am just curious about the kind of person you are. i mean, are you contented with the life you live or can do anything, no matter what, just to satisfy your aspiraions?

Yes, I feel contended with my life the way it is going on.....no doubt I try to do whatever little possible to make it better and better....but I know I have got certain limitations....I may not be able to go beyond that....so there is no use of cribbing over the things, which I cannot change or imporve. I guess taking calculated risks is wiser. It will also depend on how much that person has to lose. This will usually, though not definitely, affect how big a risk someone is willing to take.

I am one of those people who need everything done and arranged before a trip, nothing pending or else I get hyper beyond reason but sure life as long as it is is beautiful and should be enjoyed to the hilt coz you dont know when you have to leave but the thing is if you were to die you will die no matter where you are and if you are not yet to die you will not die no matter where you are, so even as we go about our daily life we must remember nothing has and ever will be forever

What good is life if we can't live it? There are a lot of things in life worth doing. If you can't take a chance on doing the things you enjoy, they you might as well not be on this earth at all. I'm going to enjoy it while I'm here. I won't get a second chance.

well life is a risk....it is ...people can betray you, can hurt you, can leave you...you can die or people you love can die and suffer..these are some of the risks of life..these are the inconvenients of life..you're said you need to take them as a part of the game. and you need to find the will to carry on each day. so these are the kinds of risks I accept in life.but I am not one of these people who like putting their own lives at risk.I mean I don't like doing crazy or dangerous things..I dont drive too fast if there is a lot of traffic...I don't ride fast motorbikes and I hate bump jumping..but apart from this I like living and I think we must love life and respect it

someone, who has the ability to come in terms with the oddities of life and not to mention fate, is already a winner. and i see you as a winner without being taking reckless risks. God bless.

That's a good question,in my early years,I fear a lot, especially in the street,I fear of the traffic very much. But as I grow,I understand it's no use for fearing. When someting would happen,it must happen.

yes, we can't control the FATE factor in our lives. however, that shouldn't stop us from being careful. most accidents are attributed to carelesness and reckless of ppl. thanx for sharing.

Well with proper exercises , food habits , regular check ups and with a knowledge of your family history You can have a fair knowledge of your longevity.I just do not allow these things to disturb my sleep.

even with that statistics i wouldn't refrain from sleeping in my bed! ^__^ i'm not that worry-wart to be afraid of everything around us. i worry too much on some things but that doesn't make me stay at home and enjoy its safety and peacefulness. those that are afraid to go out and stay at home forever are psychologically ill. ^__^;; and their life is boring. why be contented on everything at home when you can go out and experience everything that life can offer? its more fun to take life's challenges and risks because it makes you appreciate life more. its like, how could you appreciate success if you haven't experienced failure? ^__^

My Dad is over cautious as you said.. he checks for every thing.. and make sure that every door is locked, and still go with extra caution of checking again.. and again.. But to him, there are times that we slip in complacency and give way for negligence to creep in, and this time period is enough for the burglars to wipe your hard earned money all these years.. Looking from his angle.. it seems to be okay.. But i never complain about his behavior.

I love your saying waking up in the morn is a fortune! How poetic. I am a wimp over small things, but a giant risk taker where it matters. No, I am sure not afraid of going out, nor am I afraid of snuggling up in bed and next to eating, myLotting, sewing, hiking, and playing video games, shopping and about 1000 other fun things, sleeping is one of the things I most like to do.

Hugs and salute back, I think so too. In fact you have already gotten me to write a new poem. Not a great one, but something. Maybe I will be a silly goose and post it as a new discussion.

im not sure if im a risk taker but if you would know what i did from the past you would eventually think of me as one. i do stuff without planning cause i suck on it![too bad] and i believe that trying to be safe isnt a guarantee that you will not have accidents or worst die! i storngly believe that when its your time, it really is no matter where you are. but if i would be ask how to die i would love to die in sleep while having a wonderful dream. LOL!
