money from writing

Since i left school i wanted to be a reporter or use my english grades that i got to my advantage, i loved english all the way through school and got the grades that showed this. However i never got round to becoming a reporter or doing something that i could incorporate english into. Does anyone know if i could make some money on the internet writing, i dont mean forums along these lines, i been actual articles or writing? Iv had a look on the net but cant seem to find anything. I would be grateful of any help or responses, thanks amy
