Don't worry about it missak, it won't make any difference to your earnings no matter what some people might say. I think it good that yours has gone up and down because it prooves to me that you answer questions as you feel and not just to please everyone. Just ignore the stars.

I think it can be that bad, sometimes. The most volatile threads are the most interesting IMHO, but they do tend to attract fanatics who simply *hate* having their firm beliefs challanged. No proof, but I think they dish out .[-]. like sweeties.

Thanks. It seems you have right with the earnings, since I got yesterday more than usual. I usually post some polemic topics, I think that way I can find different opinions and a more interesting discussion... Is it that bad?

Why worry, it's only a number in a little tiny star. there are many here with much lower numbers.

I know it is not much important, but it doesn't feel to good, it is like bad publicity for someone who tries to know me...

You know, you start some interesting discussions, but a lot of your original posts for your discussions are only a couple of lines long. I know a lot of people rate negatively for that. Perhaps you should elaborate more when starting a discussion. Otherwise, I can't think of why you would have a 7.

Whew! I was hoping you wouldn't mind my offering advice here. I don't want to sound like a know-it-all, but I did want to help. =)

Of course! On the contrary, I appreciated it very much, actually is the deeper answer I got, I know you really know about my posts and my discussions and, despite there can be malicious mylotters that rate wrong just for fun, if there is a way to improve it is great to know it, so thank you fery much for it.

No worry, I also started up with a grey star when I got 100 posts, I am sure you will have your rating increase if you keep up with high quality discussions and replies, may be you can write a bit longer, may be five to six lines are optimal.

Just try to reply to something ou know and you will not have any problems in writing more, if you do not have much knowledge on something, try not to reply it.

I didn't mean that... Well, now that I think a bit, I realize I usually have more knowledge than what I post, but I am a little bit lazy to write it all, I think like "until someone replies me as he/she is interested on my topic, I don't have to make that effort". So I was wrong, thank you very much for warning me!!! :)

Thank you vey much. I'll try to keep that six lines... But why yesterday I had an 8 star? I think I didn't do it worse yesterday than the previous days... Anyways, I think you're all right, I'll explain myself longer to get a better star ratting. But what to do when less words make things clearler? just fulfill the other lines with something obvious in the discussion?

It's those trolls !!! Ha ha .. sometimes people give bad ratings for having your own opinion, I have been a 10 to a 8 and back to a 10 a few times now. I really pay no attention anymore.

why do you care?

Because it makes a bad image towards serious mylotters that could be searching for quality: perhaps if they find a lower star they can think I got it for a bad work, and go away. I don't mean this is a rule, but I know a little about publicity and at least it is a psicologyc effect of rejecting the new unknown person...

Yeah, your mathematic answer sounds indisputable. Thank you very much for marking me under right people althought I am stubborn sometimes!!! :) I think it would be helpful for many people that manual guide for getting interesting discussions, and if someone knows other techniques we can all implement it. I think people will care.

all right now I get it, in my modest opinion people who may care about that probably could consider an undesirable rank one below 5, because that kind of people, again in my modest opinion, tend to be very brain-driven as if they look at your star and care about if it is a good rating they will also try to know what exactly a good rating is and since logic disallows decisions without reasons, the only notable point in a linear scale is besides the extremes, the middle; so they'll take five as the line in which bad ratings end and good ratings start... yes, I'm making this up xDDDD but you can't deny it makes sense :) I don't even notice the star sometimes, and when I do I don't care at all about the number that shows there, I care about the things each person says, and that's my guide to finding good topics, just by finding the right people (like you :P) btw, I was thinking about writing something like a "guide" or better to say, my way of getting interesting topics here on the site, what you think? should I do it or nobody's gonna give a damn about it? :'(

Its sad to say that some users rate responses or discussions with a (-)simply because they doesn't agree with it.That is not how it should be.Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. You may not be doing anything wrong.I feel you should not worry and keep posting quality answers if can and have fun here.

Well, i guess i've got a similar luck as you do. Yesterday my rating was 85 and the star was a bright red that read 9! Now, today, it's fallen to 82 and the star has gone back to the usual boring yellow colored 8!

I don't think 7 is bad, but if you used to have 10 0r 9 then now it's 7 then you must have done something wrong. You might not know that your response should be more than 2 lines and it shouldn't be a yes or no. If you respond that you don't know about the topic but it's an interesting topic, at least describe why it interests you. I've been doing that and my star has been 9 for several weeks. It stays the same, not up or down. I guess I didn't do wonderful to get a 10, but good enough to stay at 9.

Just think that our stars have a mind of its own. It may go up and down anytime. I haven't got to know you yet since you are one of the new friends on my list. Perhaps try to come up with more details in your threads. Most users prefer to post longer threads as this help them to let responders understand better what their threads are all about. To cheer you up, I'll rate you + here. Keep up the good work and you will be on your way to earn that 10 star rating soon.

Well, missak, that really doesn't matter. You see, I only got a 7 star now. According to mylot rules, the star rate may flctuate from time to time due to various reasons. You don't need to worry about that. Just keep on working and you'll benefit.

You have done nothing wrong my dear. I also have the same feeling. My star is nine and states that I have a 95/100 ratings but yesterday, I got some problems in posting my answers here in mylot. Some kind of a bug in here. It went down to 92, now I must do my best to get back my 95 rating for my goal is the shiny blue ten star. good luck to us! God Bless!

Good luck to us, God Bless you too. I think I'll make what you all adviced to me, which is in short to explan myself further, never write less than 5 lines. I have also experienced that problem posting, I think it is due to mylot updating its system. Thanks for your response!

I just started a discussion about stars being public or private . . . someone else commented on their feelings of self-consciousness with regard to said star. Don't worry, missak, your star will rise again, I'm sure! Just keep at it. :)

I think they are ok the way they are, I think I can judge myself what I did good or wrong, but the purpose of the star is others to know, isn't it? I hope it will rise again, and I'll be working harder, thanks a lot for the support.
