So this Sunday is Earth Day..usually the weather out my way is crappy so we've not been able to do anything outdoors for the past few yrs BUT this weekend is supposed to be sunny and warm SOOOOO I'll be outside cleaning up the yard and possibly (if I can get my husband to buy one LOL) planting a tree which is ideal....
What, if anything, do you do for Earth Day and what types of things do you do for our environment all yr round?

We're not doing anything, which maybe helps since we won't be burning gas by running around. I am line drying cloth diapers today-that's one of the major things we do to help save the environment, disposable diapers sit in landfills for decades and take up a lot of space.

This year I do have a tree I need to plant so if it's going to stay pretty out then I'll plant it. It's been below freezing or near it now for about two weeks at night. I also have a few other plants I need to plant but I probably won't get to them this weekend. Today I've got to get my butt off here and finish cleaning my house because we're keeping our neice and two nephews tonight. And Sundays are our worst day of the week because we work that night. So we normally just lay around the house and relax.

Originally, I was going to do a "Free Hugs" campaign for Earth Day but have decided to do that another time.
If you want to read about Free Hugs, go to my soulmate's website:

As it turns out--due to the constant postponement of my trip--it's going to be my first full day at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, so I'm going to be doing what comes naturally for me ANY day I would be up there: enjoying the beauty of the place, taking pictures, and feeding the critters!
What a trip!!!
My goddaughter homeschools her three angels (who ran into the same problem your son did--bullies), and one of their lessons for this coming week will be planting their summer garden together. I think I'll remind Michelle that this Sunday is Earth Day. For some reason, I was thinking that it was the following Sunday. Time really flies!

We've been fairly steadily working on the garden at the 'new place' for weeks now when the weather was good. Likely it will be more planting - but not trees -
we are on an In Town lot with a swimming pool in the back that takes all but a narrow strip on one side of the yard and a 'narrower strip' of 'land' between the front porch and the public sidewalk.
maybe another rose bush - hmmmmmm - the peace rose is already in

Earth is such a nice day. But I guess we should think of the environment every day. recycle and reuses. I try to recycle newspaper and boxes. I use both sides of a sheet of paper. I give my old clothes to charities so they can be reused or if they aren't in great shape use them as rags. Lots of things you can do to help the earth.
