should i have another child?

i have manic depression it can be a v serious condition.i had a child 6 months ago it is going brilliantly.i havent had a serious relapse for years.but my delemma is since i had my child i have become obsessed with having another.which do you think would be more upstting to my daughter to be an ONLY CHILD or to risk having a sick mommy and have a sibling?do i quit while im ahead and thank my lucky stars or should i give her a sibling-what do you think?

I think only you, your spouse and your doctor can truly answer that question. You have to weigh the risks and the benefits and decide together. Make an educated decision, using the doctor's input. I'm certain that they will guide you based upon how bad your depression is and how well it is managed with or without medications. Once you have even one child, every decision you make from here on affects that child.
