Childrens Poetry: Have You Written Any? Would You? Published Any?

In the past week I have become totally obessed with kids poetry. I am gonna try to work on writing some for fun and possibly publication. I normally write regular poetry for well anyone but its usually just like adult like about christian stuff and my life. Now I am thinking maybe childrens? I got a bunch of kids poetry books from the library. I want to look into some mags that publish kids poetry too. I always loved Shel Silverstein why not try to write like him? Or more serious? So anyone else write kids poetry? Or want to? Or even published anything? Any tips for a person new and looking for a good start! Thanx for replying! :))

Oh,i remember there was time when i was thinking i am better than e.a.poe,i guess...ha ha ha...when i was little i write a lot poetry with rhima...of course good for nothing,but still i used from my mom birthday some..lol!! My daughter also write poetry for me....and is very firm to read me all while to while..eh,that is mean mother..to make all time the good things no matter she like or not..lol!!kidding... augusta

When I was in high school taking a creative writing class I wrote a poem that I think will make a great children's book. Eventually, I want to publish it as one. I will have to make myself successful in another genre first. But I have not written any other children's poetry.
