Dog Person in love with a cat person

I'm a dog person, and I'm in love with a cat person.. :)
We get into a lot of dumb little squabbles about the merits of cats vs. those of dogs, and while I love them both (I have both a cat and dog) I still think dogs are better pets.
Is anyone else in a relationship with their 'pet-preference-polar-opposite'? :)

My husband doesn't like pets, he is not animal abuser but also not animal lover like I am. He brought home a kitten for me as birthday gift because he knows I love cats. Now this kitten is the only pet we have, but he said if we can afford it, I can have birds, puppy and more cats. I prefer to have these 3 as pets rather than iguana etc
I guess my husband is not that bad when it comes to pets preference

I prefer cats and my partner likes dogs - the thing is that I like dogs too only that I find cats to be better pets so, we don't really have arguments or as you put it 'squabbles' just laughs...but I know when the time comes we will have a cat and a dog!
