I'm lost with the TV show Lost.Last nights episode Desmond is back in his

The flashbacks in this episode explained how Desmond met Penny, as well as shed light on his past before her and why he considers himself a coward. The 'flashes' with the buried cable, beacon, and Charlie being shot are bits of his new-found power of precognition. I don't know who you think is a senior 'Other', glra2222. Ruth, the woman that Desmond left at the altar has never been in another episode (I checked her acting credits just to make sure) and Penny is his ex-fiance. She has never been seen on the island.

The thing with lost is that its supposed to be ambiguous and confusing - that's what i think makes it so interesting. Before - i thought that they might have been making up the story as they go and maybe they are - but still im loving those parts where john locke gets all these clues and tries to investigate them. That woman that was in Desmond's flashback is one of the senior members of "the others". Im thinking the island represents purgatory and each islander is being judged for things they did in their past life. Desmond was reminded of his mistakes of the past and is being punished for that.

The whole show is about flashbacks! I love it-- I'm unsure who the woman was that Desmond cut down from the trees- It certainly wasn't his once fiance. I am glad that Desmond saved Charlie once again! I really thought he was going to let him die so that he could find his fiance! After each show I have what I think is what happened-- then we talk about it at work-- and we all say different things.. So really I don't know if any of us know- I love the Show- it is my favorite!

Perhaps it is called 'Lost' not because the cast are but because the audience are? We were watching it on Sky but now get Virgin tv so can't get 'Lost'. I will have to wait for terrestrial tv to catch up! I was convinced that they were in purgatory but think the writers will not do that now as so many viewers think that is the reason behind the program and they will want to prove us wrong. The episode with Hurly in the asylum was a good explanation too - he is just dreaming it all. Like Dallas and the shooting. Who knows? Who cares really - it is still good to watch.
