Was it wrong to show the Video of the Virgina Tech culprit?

NBC recently aired the video that the killer from the Virginia Tech shooting mailed them in between the crimes. NBC immediately aired the footage, of this crazy guy telling the world about all the reasons why he committed the crimes. This has sparked up a debate about whether or not NBC went too far. Is this something that even needs to be shown? Shoud this be something only the authorities should see. What do you think and why?

I do think it was wrong. People are in mourning and I don't think they need to see this right now, and i don't see how this would help. It is something the authorities should be shown of course for their investigations.

I only know that there was a murderer in Virginia's campus and some are students from my country. I don't know exactly what's the reason and I didn't watch the NBC program you mentioned. I'd like to know about this case any further, and that's great you start this discussion.

I think they overplayed it and then they admitted to overplaying it...too much really layers on the brain and gets in the mind and youngsters cannot handle that sometimes....I started a topic about an article I found showing how the murders affected american Idol...think this is the link if you want to check it out http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/220271/virginia_tech_gunman_kills_sanjayas.html

Yes, i think it as wrong to show the video. i think this was something only authorities should have seen. All they did was give that killing b@stard exactly what he wanted. They showed him that he could do something horrific and talk so blase about his horrible mind and get publicity for it.
