Where do we put all the metal detectors if we want everyone to be safe?

I have listened to the news and read many posts about Vtech and many are saying there should be more security. I agree that we need to make sure everyone is safe in this unsafe world we live in. I was talking to my daughters who said they should have had metal detectors at the school so he couldn't get in with a gun. It made me think. So we put metal detectors in all schools but there are other large groups that would still be at risk. What about our malls? I know some of them have them but not all do and when they do go off in stores I see most don't even take a second glance. What about churches? Many people gather in churches on Sunday should we have them there too? What about our kid's soccer games and baseball games? There are so many places we gather that not every place can prevent such a tragic thing to happen. We can't have detectors every where we go but what can we do? I am still so saddened about what happened to these poor innocent children. What can we do and how much will we do?
