I've just heard it and it's um pretty different, slowed down almost droney violin (hints of early Velvets) in a americana/folk style she goes of into one of her own beatnik stream of consenciousness about feral children scavanging in industrial chaos or something and silver sacrifical birds, at one point. Wierd hearing the lyrics clearly. There's an offical audio stream here http://www.sonymusic.com/clips/selection/fu/687251/687251_01_10_full.swf What do you think of it? also wasn't she supposed to have written a song about Kurt?

i like this patti smith´s cover, it sounds like you say pretty different. i also listen some nirvana´s covers by another artist like caetano veloso (brazilian singer), paul anka, this singers are not rock singers, so it´s interesting listen some nirvana´s songs in other kind of music.

I like it the Nirvana version is overplayed sadly it's good to listen to other peoples versions, Tori Amos did a version too that's slowed down. The extra bit she adds is a bit weird I agree but it adds something to the song and isn't bad.
