My eyes went bad a couple of years ago. When I had good vison, way back then... I always wanted to wear glasses. Now, that I have glasses, I find them a pain in the a**. I wear glasses, but I want to try contacts. But, I heard it takes time to get used to. Which do you prefer, contacts or glasses?

I wear both. I prefer contacts cos they dun mist up and can't fall off, break etc. The right contacts dun take a long time to get used to. In fact I tried a brand called medalist first. They were 6 months wear. They were confy and dint feel weird, but did tend to dry out after a while. I would recommend getting a few trials pairs from the dif manufacturers (u can print vouchers online)and see how u like them.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm thinking of getting the disposable ones first. Since I don't need to wear it during the day. Only for night time and sports.

I don't wear either at the moment. I'll probably end up having contacts someday since my family all ended up having eye problems. I can't stand the feeling of eye glasses on my nose.

Vitamins. Carrots. Trust me, you don't want glass or contacts. It's a hassle. But, I heard there are glasses that are feather light out now.

To mention the topic of wearing glasses is really a pain to me. My eyes used to be very well. They became bad when I entered the high school. Maybe that's because of too hard study. Now, I'm getting tired of glasses more and more. I wear glasses when I study or surf the internet, and when I go out, I wear contacts. It makes me a little faint when wearing glasses. I don't know why. Anyhow, I pay much attention to protect my eyes, and I hope I can take the glasses off someday in future. PS:please take care of your eyes. Good luck!

i had been wearing glasses for almost 5 years.but when i was 16 years old i changed to wearing contact lenses.it is because contact lense is more suitable with my face. at first it was hard for me to get used to wearing something inside my eye.it took me a week to completely use to wearing contact lenses.you need to get used to by wearing it for 1 or 2 hours for the first day. after i was ok with it i started wearing it every day to school.that time most of the girls in my class wore lenses.but when i am at home i will wear glasses.i only wear lenses when going out. the maximum time you can wear lenses is 8 hours only.or else youe eyes will be dry and loss a lot of protein.it was not hard once you get used to it. wear lenses is better.that will prevent your power of increasing so much.so you can actually control it.now my power hardly go up.if wanna buy lenses better buy disposable lenses which is every month last time i bought pemanent which can be use for 1 year.one day my lenses tear up.so i had to buy new one just after a few months.so it made me lost a lot since i paid for it twice.if you wear disposable you wouldn't lose anything since it is not so expensive.besides lenses are easily infected.

Thanks for the informational remarks. I'm thinking of getting it. But, my vision is not that serious so i don't really need it during the day. So it is a kind of a hassle.

I wear glasses and never tried contacts. I think that contacts is a lot of trouble. You need to clean then daily, use eyes drops, remove them and place them carefully... I see lots of disadvantages to get contact lenses.

I agree. It turned me off at the cleaning part. So, if I decide to get one. I might get the disposable ones.

I wear glasses. I have had contacts in the past but I really don't like them. My eyes are too dry for them and they are always irritated because of it. I prefer glasses, and I can take them off and put them on as I please.

The same happened with me, I started to wore glasses couple of years ago. But its really a pain, but its really useful too. If we won't wore them, it will effect our eyes. But even glasses are a bit heavier, I prefer them over contacts, as they need less care than contacts. Have a nice day.

I regret needing eye glasses. I have to wear them to do activities, and if I don't, I can't see and so many times people thought I was a snob because I didn't say hi.

I wear glasses all the time for the last 5 years or so. I would also like to try out contact lense but afraid that i might not be able to get them in etc. My dad has always wore glasses, he told me he tried contact lenses probably about 20years ago or round about. He kept getting aore eyes and they were all red. He just couldnt get used to putting them in his eyes, so went back to the glasses.

I wear daily contact lenses. I buy a years supply at a time. I get my eyes checked every year or two. I like to wear sun glasses on a sunny day. I got glasses for reading when I was 10 years old. As I got older my eyes got worse and by the time I was 20 I needed to wear my glasses all day. When I was working in Australia I met lots of people that said how wonderful contact lenses were. So when I was 21 I got some contact lenses. It was difficult to put them in a first buut I soon got used to this. I wore them for 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours and so on until my eyes were used to them. They were the two weekly ones that had to be cleaned every night in a pot of contact lense solution. These days with my daily lenses I don't need any contact lense solution. If my eyes get sore and I have to wear my glasses and I find it a real pain. If you get contact lenses I suggest soft lenses are the most comfortable. You can get ones that last daily, for 2 weeks or a month. You can even get ones called day and night that last a month. Also you can get contact lenses that last for a long time. I guess it would be a nightmare to lose one of those.

glasses - glasses still life by Holly Stewart. Winner 2004 Black and White Spider Awards, Still Life.
I've started wearing glasses when I was a junior in high school. I really hated wearing glasses. When I started working, I tried using contact lenses but it really irritates my eyes. Right now, I try to alternate both though I don't use either for long periods of time. I usually wear glasses when I'm in the office working but for special occasions, I wear contacts.

same case here.. my vision went bad when i was 13.. but.. it's still okay at that time.. i still get to see without glasses.. i still have my glasses with me.. but i used to wear contact lenses before going to class.. because it gives me a wider area of vision.. you do get what i mean right? i can scroll all over and still my vision is not limited.. it's very useful.. as i don't have to feel as if there's glass frame blocking my eyes.. i do heard that if you wear good contact lenses.. your vision might improve a little.. my cousin had such experience where she actually cured from bad vision.. =)

I got both of them,I have glasses and contacts.Usually I wear glasses cause threy are more convenient if I got smomthing matter I wear contacts they can make me look better hehe.Another reason I dont wear contacts often is they make me feel uncomfortable, contacts are not suitable for everyone if your eyes are dry you'd better wear them less.

Contacts all the way!!! It really is not that hard to get used to them. They are actually very comfortable!!! You have to remember to not rub your eyes or you will move them around. You have to remember to not let water splash into your eyes...which means no swimming with them. :( And to be careful with dust, sprays, and even strong wind. But really, they are not hard to get used to. The hardest thing to learn for some is putting them in the eye in a timely manner. Which, you do get used to that too. Each person is different and after a week, I has no problem putting them in or taking them out. It has gotten to the point, I dread taking them out to wear my glasses. Driving makes a huge difference because I can see out of the corner of my eye...with glasses...there is no lens there to allow me to see the full view. Yes...I like contacts a LOT better! :)

I prefer contacts. Although there is a downside to contacts also. I mean from losing them and having to take them out to let your eyes rest. I still like contacts a lot better then glasses.

I wear contacts during the day and when I'm home for the night I wear my glasses. I have soft contacts and they do not bother me at all. I've never tried the hard ones and don't plan on it.
