A short tip on how to make Win XP run faster

Basically over time windows gets slower because of leftover files from installations, registry entries that are not needed, unnecessary startup items and others, i found a program that could clean them up for you. just download CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/) install then run it. It would be able to remove those unwanted files to recover space and performance. BTW don't forget to backup your files and registry. Its better to be safe than sorry.

How does it work? Is there any possibility to it could corrupt your system? is it free? sorry for the questions I just have had just a time downloaded files from the internet to be unhappy with what it does to my system.

its completely free. just create a system restore point before running and and it will scan your system and give you a list of files that are not being used or just junk, also it can detect registry entries that are not being used anymore

Its not a virus at all. My brother has this installed on his computer and is very happy with it. I however prefer to remove the registry entries and eccess files myself just incase the software removes something that should not be deleted.

to prevent corruption or crashing XP i always perform system restore prior to using this software to ensure that i can return xp back

CCleaner is great. I downloaded the program a month or so ago and love it.

yup i can clean up winXP without that program but it is more convenient to use ccleaner and it can also repair and detect invalid registries which i cannot.

I had heard about the CCleaner. It works good. But I prefer the System Mechanic Software for Windows. System Mechanic is from Iolo.com; It comes with a pack of softwares.
You get Registry Cleaner, System Cleaner, Data Recovery Tool, Incinerator, Anti Spam Protection, Kaspersky Anti Hacker Firewall, System guard, etc.

CCleaner is great
and i do use RamBooster, and Ashampoo PowerUp XP to boost up my windows performance. You can get Ashampoo PowerUp XP half price at http://softwaress.blogspot.com if you willing to pay.
R-Wipe & Clean also a nice software for cleaning junk files in windows.
Do defragment windows once in a week. It keeps your pc healthy with running smoother. Good Luck!
