If you see a penny or cents on any place, would you mind to pick it up?

I was on the train going home from work and a lady drop a penny on the floor, and she was like "it's only a penny so why should i bother to pick it up" and ignore the penny that she dropped. And when the lady went out on here stop, a guy picked up the penny. Why is it a lot of people don't bother or even care about the small amount of money that they dropped, I think they are ashamed to do that but for me if there is no penny, there will be no dollar. When i was working in a Jewish Camp 2 years ago, I've made 30 dollars in 2 weeks just picking up the cents that the boys drop on their bungalows that they never bother to pick it up. So if you see a penny or cents on any place, would you mind to pick it up?
