I live in a very small town in NE, WI. We have less than 3,000 people who live here. At 11 a.m. our schools and business stopped and had a moment of silence for the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings. Our churbells chimed 32 times. Once for each victim of this horrible tragedy. Did the city where you live have a moment of silence today?

That is beautiful. I know our town is holding a candlelight vigil tonight. We also observed a moment of silence and all flags are being flown at half staff, as degreed by President Bush. May God rest their souls and give the families, loved ones, and survivors peace.

what a wonderful sentiment, no not in montreal, they church bells didn't even chime last year when we had our own college shooting. We our city did was lots of vigils.
I love the idea of the bells ringing though.

That is so nice of your town to do that.
I live way out in the desert. Nothing is out here, except for wild animals and a few homes. So, no bells out our way. I have no idea what goes on in the city though. Perhaps they did something. + rating for you again. Great post.

Wow-- that is great! As far as I know nothing like that happened here in our town- Would have been nice though- I think no matter where you are located in the states that would be a great sign of sadness and showing our support! I live in NY- upstate NY--

There was a lot of bell rinings around here. We also had an endless stream of bomb scares ,threats and the like at the schools. of course quite a few arrests.i guess these kids that do that don't think they are quite so funny now
