Mylot makes me feel loved =)

This morning before I went to work I started a discussion, and part of the discussion involved something about my health. That wouldn't have even been part of the post if it weren't for the fact the event I was talking about happened at the hospital. I was amazed that by the time I got back home from work I had a lot of responses, and almost every one of them included wishes that my tests would come out well, and comments like "I'll keep you in my thoughts" or "I'll keep you in my prayers". It made me feel so wonderful to know that so many people were concerned about me. Has mylot ever made you feel loved? Do you feel that there are people here who really care about you? (Oh, as a side note, for those who showed concern, the tests I was having were for a chronic lung condition that I'd had since birth, and it's being checked up on because I've had some strange symptoms lately, like an unexplained high fever last week. I won't know anything for a few days, and likely I'll have to go to a specialist and have another test to see how much actual lung tissue I've lost. I'll be sure to let everyone know when I know more, but for right now I'm okay, just in a bit more pain than usual.)

I am so happy to hear that people have made you feel cared about. I really like MyLot, have made some great friends (yourself included), and I feel the same way. It is weird and new for me because no other forum kind of place has made me feel cared about before. The people here at mylot are really great and I look forward to making more caring friends!

Thanks! I've only been on one other forum where I felt that way, and it was a small anime forum that closed a while back. I've missed that feeling, and it's so nice to have it again. I'm glad that you're felt that way too! =)

Hi Lecanis, Good to see you have posted another discussion here today... atleast you are able to bear the pain I suppose. It is my habit to browse through everybody's responses on a topic before I start posting because if I have nothing new to say, I don't generally post. So, while browsing through we get to know many people's beliefs and we naturally get attracted to those who share our beliefs and begin to regard them as friends. And when we spend so much of our time here, it is but natural to be concerned about them, because subconsciously we come to regard them as family. By the way, when you say you are in a bit more pain 'than usual', do you mean you always have some bearable pain which you are having since birth?

Thanks! I even made it to work today, though I was a bit tired all day, and took more medicine than usual. Still, it's nice to be able to work. =) You make some really good points about how we start caring about people. =) Yes, when I say "more pain that usual" I do mean that there has always been pain, since birth (or at least as long as I can remember). I didn't mean to start a pity party though!

Lecanis I am sorry to hear you've had more health problems. I haven't see your previous post, but I'm certainly hoping that you get good results from your tests and even more, that something can be done to improve your condition. Yes, I have found some really wonderful friends here on myLot, and one of my dearest wishes would be to meet some of them. I find it quite odd really, that my dearest friends here are all ones whose main philosophy of life is totally opposite to mine, and yet we have so much in common and share so many happy times.

Thanks so much for the kind words! I'll be dropping by the doctor's tomorrow on my day off, so hopefully I'll hear something then! There are quite a few people from mylot I would love to meet too! One of these days! =) You know, I've noticed that too. I have had some friends I was really similar to in that respect, but I've also had plenty who were opposite of me in philosophies, and yet similar in so many other ways. It's interesting what kind of people are drawn to each other, and get along well! =)

Hello, lecanis, take care of yourself then,we will always like to concern about other members. I have been here for 2 months and I feel that our friends are like our family members now which we will concern with each other and share our happiness and unhappiness we have everyday,I think we cannot find similar feeling in another forums as people there may only keep posting and posting for money onlu while mylot members will care about the feelings of other members. Anyway .,take care.

Thanks! I've felt the same way in other such forums, where it seemed impossible to even really have a conversation, and certainly impossible to make real friends! I really appreciate the people I have met here, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who has felt this. =)

Lecanis I had been away for few days and now I learn you are not keeping well again. Oh I hope you get well soon and pray that everything comes out good in your test results and they give you a green signal on health dear. I know lung problems are very tough to deal with my mother is a chronic asthma patient and I have grown up seeing her suffer many days together it was heart rending to see her trying to get back to health after every attack. Get well soon and good luck dear.

Oh, I do pay attention to people around me as well! I have a husband, a child, some very close friends, and some awfully nice coworkers. So it's not that I don't get love there as well. It's just that more love is always good. =) By the way, I understood what you were saying just fine.

hello. i haven't read the other discussion you've started and still, i am glad that you seem to be okey right now. and i still hope for you to be okey in a few days' time. plus the results of the tests... hope everything will go on well with you. i had always been surprised on how nice people are in myLot. even if we disagree sometimes, we disagree in the most mannered way we can. i had meet friends and real good friends here in myLot. and just like you, i am amazed on how close the members here had become. there was a time when i felt hurt about a certain myLotter who accused me of being a gold digger just because my boyfriend is a foreigner. the fact that she does not really know me, i felt sad and hurt knowing that a certain person from my country judged me that quick. feeling sad, my spirit was uplifted by members who supported me. people who backed me up and helped me feel better. surely, myLot is not just a site for discussions... it's a site where frienship is cultivated from scratch. happy myLotting!

Thanks so much for the kind words. You know, you bring up an excellent point about how even sometimes people we disagree with are very kidn to us. I've had that experience sometimes too. There have been a couple of posters that I have disagreed with on something that are now my friends. =) That does sound mean, to judge you so quickly in that respect. I'm so glad that others were able to support you and make you feel better. As many nice people as there are here, once in a while you will get that person that just isn't. I'm just glad that I've seen it less often than people being nice.

Hello lecanis. I can say that it did, it does still. When I was very new here, I was touched by the help of some really nice people. Without actually knowing me at all, they unselfishly extended a hand when I needed it most. They made me feel at home. I wouldn't be here if not for all of those people (you included) who have helped me. I haven't been going on as much as I would like to these few days. I'm sorry to have missed out on your discussion about your health. I'm having a hard time catching up what with these technical problems I've been having. Anyway, I too would like to hope and pray you will be more than ok. That the results will be good ones and your prognosis even better. Here's some hugs for you *hug hug hug* to keep the pain at bay. Thanks and have a great day! Take care.

Thanks for all your kind words. It means a lot to me.

I only "met" you today on one thread but from that thread and this one I have to say that you seem to be the kind of person that I'd feel honored to call a friend. You seem to be one of those rare, special individuals who's taking the hand life dealt to you and even though some of those cards were pretty bad you haven't let it defeat you or twist your heart in some way. Sometimes I feel so bad that it seems like some of the best people I know have suffered so much but other times I wonder if maybe a person has to suffer to become that fantastic. Who else could have so much tolerance, compassion, and acceptance than someone who's been through the bad times? I'm sure for anyone who knows you it's easy to reach out to make you feel loved and cared about but I'm especially pleased to hear that there are still some people out there who extend that love and caring simply because you're a fellow human being! If love and caring are coming your way from those who don't know you as well as those who do then maybe it's because you've given so much of it to others and it's just coming back around. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers too. Please let us know how things are and the tests come out as you're able to.

Well, not yet. I haven't been here that long, but I have felt liked, a little. I also did a post about wondering if I might have food poisoning and got a few responses straight away which I thought was very kind. They gave very good advice and were sensible, which I really appreciated at the time!

I agree, there are a lot of great folks here at mylot indeed! I've been in many prayers and prayed for many. It is a wonderful thing to see so many people who truly do care when so many times in the day you hear only of the "bad" people who make our world horrible. Sure is nice to log on and get some sunshine isn't it? Good luck! And yes... I will keep you in my prayers.

It's nice isn't it? When we get a surprise like that, one that makes us feel loved and cared about. I know myself it gets me very emotional when it happens to me. It's even more special when it happens with people you have never met in person, maybe you talked with them on line or in a discussion board like this, but they have still brought you into their lives and care about you. I've had it happen a few times with ones I have known from on line. The latest was recently when I got out of the hospital with bronchitis. I was a bit surprised by a few responses form those not on my friends list especially; they had noticed I wasn't as active as I usually was and had wondered what happened. It made me feel very special to hear the responses of get well, glad to know you are back, that you are doing better, etc. It made me feel very lucky to have mylotters in my life.

Exactly, that's why it's so wonderful! It is a surprise, and it's also something they didn't have to do. People around you physically are of course going to act this way, but people who have never met you in person simply don't have to. So that makes it all the sweeter when they do!

I'm relatively new here, but I've had a few responses that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's a wonderful feeling! On a side note, I read and contributed to your other discussion. I had wanted to ask you about your health, but didn't want to pry. Being that you're open about it, I hope all goes well for you. After watching my mother slowly decay over a sixteen year illness, I've always said, if you don't have your health, you don't have anything at all.

You deserve those types of responses! You might be new, but you've made an impression not only on me but also others I talk to, from what they've said. =) I try to be open about my health without coming across as if I am just being whiny and melodramatic. I don't mind when people ask me questions, and sometimes talking is helfpul, but it's very nice of you to consider whether it would prying to ask. That's very sweet of you. =) *nods* I can understand how that experience would color how you feel about the importance of health. For me, having always suffered from health problems, I feel the same way. I focus a lot on being as healthy as I can considering what I was given to work with (without making myself miserable from the effort).
