I have lots of friends who have pet dogs... And they all have their nice names too. One friend of mine named her pet dog Wendy because it was her cousin who died of cancer who named it.. Her cousin chose it because she said that if she gets married she will name her daughter Wendy Angela Marie... What about yours? What is your story? WHAT is the NAME of your pet dog? WHERE did you get it from?

My Buster is a 13 year old basset/shepherd mix. My family and I first got him from the humane society when he was 3 years old, in the summer of 1997, when i was 11 years old. We kept his given name. He was brought to the shelter because his first family was splitting up and neither could apparently take him. My mother kept him when I moved out of the house, but soon her situation changed and was unable to keep him any longer. A little drama ensued last summer and he was in a shelter for a short while. I took custody of him and am now taking care of and enjoying him every day. He's very intelligent, has a great personality and is extremely lovable. He loves to be outside and will request a walk regardless of the time, temperature or precipitation. He has a bark of demand when he wants something, but is generally polite unless you let his patience run out. He's still "puppy."

I was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks after Christmas. I am still trying to get myself built back up so my son and husband thought a puppy would help me to get exercise and to also keep me company. I was very depressed after my hospital time and was very lonesome and didn't want to be left alone during the day. I had no idea my son was looking for a puppy. At the time I sure was wishing they had talked this over with me first. We used to have whippets, they are miniature greyhounds. I always wanted another one of them since they are such good dogs, either that or Italian Greyhound. Ok, so my son does listen to me. In he walks one night and comes to my bedroom and hands me this little bundle that was shivering and shaking. An Italian Greyhound. A beautiful brown color with some black on his tail and white on the tip of his tail. We named him Elvis. It was not until later that I realized that he was born on Elvis's birthday, how weird is that??? I have always had girl dogs and not sure what to think about this one being a boy. haha I do know that he likes my son and husband better than he likes me, maybe because I'm the one with him all day and the one who has to get onto him? LOL My son bought him from a couple that live not too far from here from their litter.

I came up with the name for my beagle easily. My late brother had a beagle and he named her Lady. For a macho guy, he said she looked liked a little Lady. So I gave mine the same name. Well, about a week after having her home with us, I was just looking at her and said to her you look like a Ladybug with all those spots. So her First name is Lady and her middle name is Bug. We got her at the age of 6 months, next month she will turn 9. We found Lady at a beagle farm. With our new bundle of joy, we really haven't came up with a name yet. My 5 year old daughter kept talkning about her new movie Shiloh, it just stuck. We got Shiloh, basically at a Walmart parking lot. A couple was giving puppies away for free. For being 7 weeks old she's very smart, will wake me up to go potty or scratch at the door when she's awake.

That is a touching story of how the dog was named wendy. I have 2 dogs and one is called sam and for some reason I am always calling him sam the man. My other dog is called tessie. Sam came to us when he was about 6 months so he was already named and I think my son picked tessies name but I don't remember why he came up with that name.

Buffy is the name of my half shitzu half Japanese Spitz dog. I go it from my favorite TV show, Buffy the vampire slayer. I love that show. My sister and I were thinking that if she ever has pups again, we’ll name them after the character of the show so we can have the whole cast. LOL.

I have a chihuahua named Coco. I chose the name Coco so I can say "I'm Coo Coo for Coco Puffs" and also because she had a coco colored muzzle. I got her from a breeder and knew I wanted her as soon as I saw her.

I always wanted a dog named Roxy because I'm an avid surfer and love the brand. Imagine my surprise when the dog I picked out from the shelter's previous name was Roxy (just spelled different). I knew she was the dog for me!

Her name is Nala. I got it from the movie Lionking. I know most of you are familiar with it. Actually i'm thinking whether it'll gonna be kiara or nala. I thought kiara is too girly so i chose nala, it's simple yet cute :)

I have a dog named chickie. She is now 10.5yrs old. I named her after one of the pop song "chicky" dance song. My dog is a special dog coz she's the only dog that I have who knows how to dance when she's in the mood. She has an exquisite taste for food, loves to eat bananas and is also a vegetarian.
