I have known people who have stage fright.. i have been one of those who have that. At school, i was struggling every time i have to do a recitation in front of the class, whoah, i felt terribly nervous, i could feel my heart thumping faster and my hands very cold. Lolz. But i was forced to speak in front of people at school so maybe somehow my stage fright was kinda lessened. I dont know but i think i still am struggling with it somehow. Now, everytime i have to speak in front of a crowd i just pretend i didn't have it. What do you think causes stage fright.. Do you think we have to conquer it? What do you think we should do to overcome it? Share your thoughts... or maybe even scientific explanations about this. :)

Stage fright occurs under certain situations. They include lack of proper preparation, lack of self confidence, the 'halo effect', certain diseases(e.g LPR/GERD) that impair speech, being afraid of criticism, wanting to be a perfectionist, etc. When I was having a great measure of self confidence, I used to look forward to public presentations and speeches, as they gave me an opportunity to show off my academic brilliance. However, since I have suffered from LPR/GERD, my speech has suffered a great setback, making me lose concentration and confidence. Before I got to know about the LPR/GERD, I had thought that the stage fright resulting from my throat uncertainties was due to some mental or psychological problems. I advice that you explore your own possible cause(s), and proceed from there for a solution. Good luck.
