Do you throw your books away?!
I love my books very much, I mean I make highlights, drop footnotes, lending to my friends or give to them; but I never throw my books away in the garbage can or put them into the recycle car!
In 84, Charing Cross Road, by Helene Hanff. Helene Hanff says that she can't keep too many books around her, she has to throw them away once in a while for they are useless and disgusting... She's a philobiblist, however, only to the rare books, original versions, first prints...etc.
I really enjoy this cute 84, Charing Cross Road, but I don't agree with Helene Hanff on this point... rare books do have their price and value; however, what so important for me is the content of a book.

No. First I make of the lists that I am going to discard. Then I show the lists to friends or acquaintances to see if any of them want some. Then if I have any left over I take them to the local library.
PS: The image is a picture of the library in the Mafra Convent in Portugal built in the early 18th century fulfilling a promise by King John VI on the birth of a son. It is magnificent....It contains over 40,000 books, including some of the original works of the Greek Homer. It is a must for all tourists to see.

No I do not throw my Books away as I like to keep them
I have given a lot away about 4 years ago and I really regret it now but now I keep them and start a new Collection

I love books. After reading a novel (fiction, science fiction, historic books), I bind them properly with a good transparent wrapper and keep it in my personal library. Some of the books which I have purchased during my school days are intact. I do not sell the books, or put it in waste paper basket.
I have enlisted you as my friend and I expect you to to respond one of my discussions everyday as I have done for yours.

I never throw away books. If I'm done reading them, they either go on the shelf or I donate them somewhere so someone else can read them.

I lost my entire library when our basement flooding in 1982. Since that time I've amassed another library. I never throw books away, but I do take them back to used book stores so that someone else can use them. Besides, I get a few bucks for doing that so that I can buy even more books!

I cannot imagine throwing away a book!!! Even the books I don't like I give away but never throw away. I have tons of books. I love to read.

i try 2 keep most of my books.but have lost sum of them.but i nevr throw them.
