Does anyone know of a decent way to earn money writing?

I like writing and would like to be paid for it. But, in my understanding of freelance writing is, I have to write a LOT of extremely boring projects at pennies a word. I can't write a single word about something that bores me. Also I have ZERO percent salesmanship skills. I can't write a proposal letter to some guy about what I would like to write about and then write about other things that suppose to make him buy it from me. Is there a place with a list of topics that I can choose from, tell them I can write about that, then send it in to be paid for it? And I would rather the topics come with its' own price tag- how the hell am I suppose to know what an article is worth to somebody else?

There are several ways to earn money writing. You can earn by writing reviews on products (more on this on my blog, which you can find by going to my profile). You can also earn by doing sponsored posts on your blog. I find this the most lucrative, and have earned about $115 since Feb doing this. I use Payperpost, and you do get to choose what you write about. (More details again on my blog). Finally, my blog links to a freelance writers' forum (the post is about halfway down the blog), which you might want to check out.
