Can anybody tell me what ORKUT is??

Looking around this site for more than a month now, I notice many discussions with ORKUT as the main topic. But when I enter discussions with orkut, I still cant understand much about it because it seems that all people who respond to such kind of discussions are already old members of the site - I cant really relate. I am just puzzled what this is so can anybody tell me what exactly is orkut? Is this a social network or what?? Please do tell me if you know..

Yes, it is a social network just like myspace, friendster, etc., where you can get new friends, discuss your favorite topics, get dates, etc. But i feel that Mylot is better than orkut simply for the reason that mylot pays the user for having fun while orkut does not.

Well thank you for that information! You know I really am puzzled about that site. If it is really like friendster, then I must also like mylot more because I like forums a lot better. Thanks for this response!

I have not visited this site either. I've run into hundreds of discussions about orkut. I think, ok this is just what I think, it's like friendster or myspace, but the members are mostly from India. Don't take my word for it, that's just what I think.

You know what? That's also my theory and I'm also not that sure. So maybe I'll just look for more responses that might give us more idea about orkut. I think it would be better for you to keep a look at this discussion for you to also find out well. Thanks for this response by the way!

I also have the same question. I have also seen numerous discussion about orkut and don't exactly know what it is. I think it is also some sort of community like mylot.

whew..whew.. you havent heard abt orkut..??? well..orkut is a socialising site.. you can make friends, acquintances asnd business networking..! its really very nice site..! a must join..
