Should you stay at a job you don't like??

Should a person stay at a job they absolutely hate? I just put in my notice at work due to the fact that they decided I needed to work 6 days a week without feeling bad about it. My theory is that I work to live, I don't live to work. When it comes down to making my job more important than my family, it's time to get out. I'm very fortunate that I've got a hubby that makes good money and would rather have me at home than making someone else rich while I kill myself trying to make a measley $6 an hour. Did I do the right thing???

Seeing as how you hubby can make enough on his own, I would say you absolutely did the right thing. If however your income was necessary for your family to survive I would stick it out until I found another job. Only six bucks an hour? Not much. Seeing as how you are now at home, you could probably devote more time to blogging. I made over $300 dollars this week. At $6 an hour that is equivalent to 50 hours work. I did it in less than half that.

Thanks honey. I am going to really get busy with my writing and blogging. Of course, I'll be emailing you quite often as I'll need your guidance as I go along, but I'm already working on making it all work for me. Thanks again, hon.

You may find you are money ahead by staying at home and starting a small business. The way the Income Tax is you are peanalized (Paying a higher tax rate) for making more money. With a small business you will gain many valuable tax deductions that will reduce your totsalo income. I have a small business and now get a tax deduction for any travel I do that is related in any way to my business. Today I bought a part for my computer for business. I got to take th mileage as a business expense. I was able to do some other shopping and errands on the same trip.

Cool, thanks Bob. I knew that small businesses got tax breaks, but wasn't real sure how much or even which ones for which business. I'll have to do some research into that. Thanks for your comment.

I've quit jobs several times without guilt or regret because I didn't like them. I didn't feel comfortable doing so unless I had something else lined up. That something could've been another job or a list of places where I've scheduled interviews.
