Many people visit museums when they travel to new places. Have you asked yourself before why are people visit museums ? Is that to watch things they have never saw before ? Is that to discover another world through the stuff in museums? Is that to increase their knowledge ? Have you visit museums before? and what's the benefits you got ?

i like to visit museums so that i will know what it look like to be on that era, how people look like, example the way they dress, work and also the beautiful sceneries on those olden times.

I visit museums every chance I get. There are so many reasons for going. I like to go when I am visiting a new place because I will see artifacts and art that I don't have at my access in my area. I visit places that tell me about the culture and history of places I am visiting. I visit to expand my world beyond what it available to me on just a daily basis. I visit to inspire my creativity. I could go on and on. Opportunities abound in museums and I like to go as often as I can.

people go for all the reasons and you have already mentioned them. I like to see the visual displays, especially if it is a wax museum. I like to see ancient artifacts as well.

I used to do that, especially when I was overseas. Museums tell me so much about a country. Obviously it's history can be learnt from a museum, but now also many have contemporary items of interest. I have taken my daughter, 7 various classes that I teach, to our museum a number of times.

I think some people visit the museums for some kind of study, some people visit to see some of the anitques of the world. The paintings or statues that was made by some very very important people of the world give knowledge and some kind of teaching to the new generation.

Every year I go to Washington, DC. They have many museums and I enjoy going to museums because they house artifacts and art that I could not see anywhere else. Art by major painters of the past and present. It is cool. And the artifacts from history help you imagine what life is or was like during different time periods of earth. I like museums. I started going to them when I was a kid. I took my kids to musuems and I still like them now that I am older.

I adore museums, I am an artist and love to be around centuries worth of compiled art.I think these establishments are truly the gem in any cultures diadem.Sometimes all the collected greatness in one spot can be intimidating and unfortunately intriguing to thieves so,I fear them and fear for them, but only slightly, I enjoy them and revere them more.

I asked already "why?", and for me its wonderful to know that sometime, somehow, someone thought about, made and touched the thing i have in front of me. If it is an artefact i just imagin the person working with it, if it is a draw, a scoulpture or cavans or some other artistic thing i ask myself "how did they do it"? the collors, the light, the movements. I've visit a lot of museums, even the famous Louvre but the one i loved the most was the D'orsey museum in Paris, all the great impressionists are there. For the moment I've not been having a monetary balance to do it, but as soon as i get in shape i will start visiting museums again. By the way travelling and visiting museums is in my blood.... i've made history studies ;D

when you visit museums, you know about the history, art and culture of a country. without it, our children will be deprived of our rich heritage.

I visit the museums to learn about the history of a country.Every country has a story and it's the museum where I can study about the birth and revolutions and people of the country I am visiting. It's fascinating how much you could learn about the country by studying it's past.Yes, I have visited several museums in my country and abroad.

Well, a nice question indeed.I think the purpose of ones visit to a meseum depends largely on his/her age, fields of interest etc. There are people who are really interested in learning about the culture and history showcased there. But i think the majority who come to a museum are the tourists to that place who just dont want to miss out anything available for tourists over there. It is also noticable that a visit to a mueseum is one of the most affordable offers at a tourist place.Parents also take their children to museums in the hope to keep them informed; though they themself might have the least of interest in what's showcased in there.

I too visted museums, just because it is in the itenrnary. A museums houses all the historical antiques and relics of the past. I prefer to live in the present. The past does not really interest me. Morever, I never like the museum because there is a stint of foul air. However, it is additional knowledge to learn the living of the past and how much today has changed from the past.

I think people visit museums for a scope to watch new things that are really very old! They satisfy thier curiosity about the past by visiting the museums. At the same time they experience the past, they go back from their current age and time. I think it is a new and thrilling experience that motivate people to visit museums.
