the decline of the boxer

Guys, I guess most if not all of us knew the famous filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao who became famous bcause of beating and efeating the most prominent boxers of this time. At first, I really looked up to him as a hero because he really made the Philippines known to the world and he brought pride and glory to the nationalism of the filipinos. But lately, I really felt disappointed because he has just engaged in politics, which for me, is his waterloo. Politics is his weak point knowing that he didn't have that much of education and experience. Why is he running for the office of representative? just imagine the bills that he would be making? I'm not against him personally, i just didn't like the idea of this great man declining just because of dirty politics.

I guess its his own personal decision to run maybe influenced by some unpopular politicians who runs behind him. The administration knows that in that district the popularity of the incumbent congresswoman is still very strong so they have to look at someone who will at least equal her popularity the least and Pacquiao just got qualified with it. We cannot do anything anymore since he decided to runs. the thing is let him be and let his constituents decide who they want to represent their district. If he wins then let it be and watch him closely if he could really deliver what he is promising his constituent. If he loses then I hope he would be a good sportsman like when he is a boxer who accepts the defeat peacefully.

we have to respect this decision that manny pacquiao has taken. i agree with you that this is his right. besides, we can never judge that he cannot do anything good in congress. he has his wits and his talents and those congressmen do not do any of the hard work, they hire all sorts of assistants and office help to do everything for them.

I am not also in favor of Pacquiao joining dirty politics. He should have remained in his field and encourage and develop the youth for sports especially boxing which is his field and he can help many people by that and continue bringing honor to the Philippines. But becoming a candidate for the Lower House where bills start which needs defense for a bill to be passed, that's not for Pacquiao. He could have better started to be Mayor of a town then grow in politics if that's what he likes. We cannot prohibit people from aspiring too high but it's really a big mistake for Pacquiao to do that as far as I am concerned. We lose a good fighter in the field of boxing for if he becomes a congressman, shall he still fight? That's awkward and that degrades the Philippine Congress too.

i agree with you. if he's elected in the house of representatives, it would cause harm to the name of philippine politics considering that our country has already suich a bad name in the political arena. his victory would mean the defeat of philippine politics. he's better off as a boxer.

i like manny pacquiao, too. he is a very friendly person. he is very popular among so many here in davao city. if he has achieved this much popularity here in davao city, then he should be more popular in his hometown as regards his goodheartedness. why he was convinced to get into politics, is something which is known to him only.
