Are all children deaf???

My children kill me with the television. They seem to think that it has to be turned up to the max at all times. I know that they don't have a hearing problem because they have been tested. Still it drives me insane to hear the T.V. turned up to the max all day long. Do all kids seem to think that this is the only way to hear the television? Or am I alone here?

My guess would be that your kids in particular are putting the volume up as loud as it will go, that way they don't hear you when you call on them to do something - or at least use it as an excuse for not hearing you. You know how much they like getting off their butts to do ANYTHING around the house except make a mess. lol

T, you are so wrong, but right. I will have to agree, but it's annoying as hell.

My children use to do it alot. I got tired of telling them to turn down the sound or turn off the television. We now have a rule that the television can't go past a certain number. If they put the television any louder then they lose all television for 48 hours. Since putting this rule into effect they have only gone over once. They hated having no television time.
