Oh my gosh. My childrens favorite book was "Are you my mother?" I think it was a Dr Suess. I read it to our daughter then our son. I think we wore out three of the books. Our son loved "Me" books. I do not even know if they are still around. The covers came off and my husband put string in to the covers and tied them back together.
I use to read to the children all the time. I was a stay at home until my son turned 2 I went to college. I would sit my books on my lab one child on my right side one on my left. I was nursing school so I even read them my biology and science books. My son loved my biology book.
Both of my children are very smart. They take after their dad. Mom has to study very very hard. I feel by my reading to the children it taught them to read and also to sit still.
