I wanna help people

This has been an idea of mine for a long time..but only recently has it started to come to me, on how exactly to do it. But I'd love your guys' input and advice.
All over the world, there are amazing people..trying to prevent not so lovely laws, protect our enviroment, feed starving children and cure diseases. This is wonderful, I hope it continues..but the facts are, I've realized. Everyone else who's having problems, difficulties..the folks who've tried and tried to get help.
Most folks just don't care. Or at least not enough to try to start something that will someday be able to help them. And those who do care are unable to help them in any other way than to give them support..and sometimes not even that.
There's so many issues in this world..in my country alone even..which are left in the dark. Ignored.
Something has to be done.
I've decided..even with my own problems..I need to do something about it.
So..can you guys all give me your input on this? Any reccomendations for a kind of website I can set up? My only idea is a xanga account..since I'm fairly good at the coding necessary for layouts there. And it'd be easiest to set up, maintain..and it's free. Features I should add? What kind of things need helping? I already know about families with hard luck moneywise..I was planning on setting up some kind of donation thing...clothes, food, etc and people donating money so I can ship what people ask for or request for people they may know. Help for others. Another thing'd be a chat-like system for people who just need someone to talk to.
Another thing would be petitioning to the government for us to gain some kind of control of where our tax money goes. For now most of it'd probably have to be in the U.S. and it'd be small at first..but as things'd grow..
What do you think, guys? Any ideas?

What a wonderful idea hon, and I commend you totally for the idea. It is often almost impossible to find out where you can get help, and a lot of the time you get the runaround from the agencies who are supposed to help. Some kind of central data base idea would be brilliant so people could find out exactly what they need.
How about a kind of "swop shop" section, where people can list what they have and what they would like to swop it for. Maybe someone has a fishing rod and really needs a bicycle, that kind of thing.

I too have wished that there was more caring. I hope you are successful with this. If there is anything I can do then just ask and I will do my best. I also think that we should be able to tell what we want our tax dollars spent on. With homeschooling my children I would want my tax dollars going to the libraries. Voting with our tax dollars would be a good method. Good luck in all you do.

Those all sound like really great ideas and it is so nice that you are trying to help other people. There are so many different causes and so many different ways to help. I think that you could set your page up so there are different ways to help different organizations. You could have a section for charity walks, a section for petitions, and you could link to thehungersite.com and it's related pages because that is free for people to do. Good luck, if you get it finished I would love to see it. Also, there's an art show that helps to raise money for the homeless that I plan on joining up with for their next tour: http://www.gimmeshelter.co.uk/index.php It says UK, but they tour America, I'm not sure if the funding is for the UK or America though.

You have a great idea..I have one similar, but am working from the bottom end up..I am hopng to get many people on the road to financial independence and through that, in unity, help others in turn. The power is in numbers my friend. I am sending you a pm about it. I think it is very noble of you and maybe in the future we can merge our assets, mental and otherwise..

If you have the idea of helping people, this is not ordinarily - it is a divine instinct from God to give a helping hand to humanity. You have all the potentials God has bestowed in you to carry out this task. He said "He will not lead where His grace cannot sustain you". If you dont have the ability to help but you want to, now is the time to request that ability from God. Because He has given you the talent. It is now left for you to act before He will assist you in whatever aspect you need assistance. Remember, the talent God gives to you and the idea too, He has given to someone else. If you fail to use your own, others will use theirs and their names becomes known as God establishes them. God gives them the ability to use their talents too if they ask. The parable of the talents in the Bible - if you use your telents, GOd gives you another and increases you in level and wisdom....So, don't hesitate to use your talents and always ask God for direction and insight on how to use them.

There WAS that dream with Morrigan..haha.
Anywho, I will certainly not forget my own faith whilst I try to do this..with the help of others hopefuly, but yeah. I really don't expect to be able to pull this all off on my lonesome. Hey, I'm just one girl..whether I'm Goddess-task-given..ed, or not lol.
I also dislike to rely on the hope that if I don't succeed at first, someone, somewhere else will. So..I'll hold onto this..dream, and try my dangedest. I don't intend of giving up easily.
In any case, I appreciate your thoughts.

I'm currently a local volunteer at a hearing impaired club. There is a running joke between us about volunteering.
Volunteering is like talent time, those who have talent don't have the time, those who have time don't have talent...
I don't think this has to be the case. One thing which I have learned about making money online is that there are ALWAYS talented people trying to showcase their wares. How about creating a platform for designers, comic artists, writers, musicians etc etc, to sell their works, in return for a good cut for charity?
The same platform will also allow some less fortunate people to showcase their talents, without appearing as 'disabled'. Dignity is something we all value.

On the web tends to be slightly better, though yes admiteddly not by much.
Very awesome idea, I'll have to add it toward the top of the list of ideas to work on.

I appreciate the idea.I in fact wanted to host a website and was wondering what the website should actually do.I had no idea.You could have helped with giving out some ideas,you could even given me this one but you rather wished not to help me. *puts on a sad face*
I saw the website xanga.worldnyd.com its pretty fresh.Lets say that i wanna say something on the website cuz I'm in deep need.Where am i supposed to write whatever i want to? Does it have any provision for that? Please respond cuz i may have whatever you're looking for.I'm looking at the big picture.You know what i mean.Holla at me when you read this.

i wasn't planning to put it on xanga either.I was thinking of hosting it on my own.You know like the real websites.
And i needed just the idea of what the website should do and not with coding cuz I'm well aquainted with coding,as you must have known that i'm into computers.
aww..email you huh? sounds fine.I thought you could have a form were people could type their needs and there there would be a page called the "needs" page where where all the needs are listed.So that way it'll be kinda easy for those who are willing to help too.Also it'll save you time to enter all the details of the needs requests you get.
I'm thinking of taking this website think to the next level,if its ok with you cuz you've got the ideas and i know how to implement them. *winks*

You never said it was a help site. And it wasn't on xanga so I was unsure whether I had the coding capabilities *tsks* heh.

Well you can lay down your ideas here and we can discuss what we can do together on the site, I need all the help I can get anyway. And that is a good idea, the form and all.
I think I've an idea of what you mean by the next level, but I'll ask anyways lol: how're you planning on taking it to the next level?
