What's the importance of tagging responses?

Is it important to tag responses? Is it only a waste of time or is it useful? And if yes, why?

Tagging discussions/respeonses helps sort out all discussions. If some one searches with certain tag words, it helps that the proper discussions come up in list when some one searches.

i usually check to see what the other people writing and responding to a message have put. usually if you skip it, be it accident or whatever, someone else already has put a few in, or someone else will.
