Are you fond of reading books? What books do you usually read?^_^ I am fond of reading books. When I was a child of course, I always have books as presents like fairy tales and stuff. As I grow up I bean to read more. When I have nothing else to do, and a computer was not yet one of my basic needs in life, I usually read the encyclopedias here in the house. Ahahaha... Then I started to read a few novels and pocket books like Sweet Valley High, Sweet Valley Jr (High), Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Nancy Drew... I love books from authors Stephen King, Sidney Sheldon, Dean Koontz, Mitch Albom, Paulo Coehlo, and George Orwell.^_^ Reading books help us gain more knowledge. It opens us to another world and of a lot of ideas that's why I love to read.^_^ How about you? Feel free to share your thoughts.^_^

just like you i love to read books. i think it was because of my mom's upbringing to us. she always gives us books to read. my older sister who was seven years older was the one who introduce me to the world of romance novels. at a very young age (12 years old), i began reading it. i first started with Sidney Sheldon's the stars will shine (sory, am not sure with the title anymore) until i got hooked and read the romance novels that i can get. there was a time in my life that i cannot sleep unless i read first and i have many sleepless nights of reading books of judith mcnaught, jude devearaux, julie garwood, kathleen woodiwiss. we try to collect the books that they had written and am proud to say that we did. nowadays, we are more into books of magical stuff. books of cs lewis, piers anthony, jk rowling, neil gaiman. we are also into books like messianic legacy, the holy blood, the holy grail, da vinci code, etc. i agree with you when that books help us gain more knowledge. not only that, it can also make a person to be more creative since s/he is creating/imagining scenes/events/happenings in his/her mind making their creative part of the part to work hard.

I do read books as I have a whole cupboard full of novels. I am from Pakistan so I have many books in my own language i.e Urdu. My favorite which I love to read are based on travelling stories. Tourists writing books on the places they have visited as I so much want to know about other countries and beautiful places around the world.

I am fond of reading books. I used to read comics when I was young. But now I read Philosophy, Religion, Science and so on. In Philosophy I like Aristotle, Descartes and then I try to follow Metaphysics and Ethics. Ethics is very interesting and it helps in my daily life too. I have read Buddhism, Christianity and Hinduism. Not read Islam much because I don't get materials on Islam. But it would be interesting to read Islam too. Science is mostly about cosmology, which has some relationship with Metaphysics. So it is about time and space and quantum mechanics and so on. I am also interested in following the debate between Creation and Evolution. And then examine the philosophical framework and the outworking of both the worldviews.

I love to read books. I can remember as a child in the hot summer, my siblings and I would lie on the living room floor with the fan blowing on us, and my mom would read the 'Little House on the Prarie' books to us. Then when I got older I started reading Sweet Valley High, The Babysitter's club, Little Women, and Little Men. Now I read books by Stephen King, Robin Jones Gunn, Terri Blackstock, Amanda Quick, Jayne Ann Krentz, Bentley Little, Nicholas Sparks and many more. To me reading is a chance to get lost in another world! And I agree with you that "reading books help us to gain more knowledge." I love to read and so does my husband. My children are ages 6 and 4 and they love to be read to and to look at books. My son(who is 6) is just now learning to read and it is so exciting to listen to him read! And it is one of the greatest things to be able to share our love of books and of reading with our children!

Yeah it gives us more knowledge. Like whenever your reading books, you come to realize sometimes that your using the phrases they use at the book :) I love reading Harry Potter! That's why I read it over and over and over again! :P
