I love the horror and sci/fi genres and am interested in knowing what other sci/fi and horror fans call their favorite books. As for sci/fi,I would have to chose either Ray Bradbury's "The Martian Chronicles" or H.G.Wells "War of the Worlds".As for horror,Stephen King's "The Stand" is my favorite but Dean Koontz' "Midnight" and "Strange Highways" comes darn close. What are your favorites

There are so many to choose from . . . Recently, I've been infatuated with Brian Lumley's Necroscope series. I want to say Necroscope, but I'll go back to my all-time favourite, Stephen King's It, the only book that I've ever read twice. It's the level of detail that he lends to each character, not to mention the fact that the viallin is a clown, that does it for me.

I have read "It" so many times it's not even funny.I oved the book and the movies although I wasn't too happy with the actors they chose.I never like clowns much anyway.I always thought they were kinda scary . I also loved The Necroscope series. Brian Lumley is so good. I wish he had more coming out

I am into Historical and historical fiction. I love books that I can learn something while I am being entertained. I also love Sci/fi but I hate horror books. I have nightmares when I read them. LOL

I love the books written by Anne McCaffrey and Marion Zimmer Bradley. Anne McCaffrey's *brainships* series are excellent, highly recommended and a wonderful concept too.

Anne McCaffrey's books are so great aren't they! I was hooked from the very first one . I wish the Library would stock more of her books.

I don't know, it used to be Catseye by Andre Norton, then Breed to Come by her too. Now I think its Dragonrider, the first dragon book by Anne McCaffrey, tho I like all of the Pern books. I also like To Ride Pegasus and The Ship Who Sang. On the third hand I really like Songmaster by Orson Scott Card and the first Ender book & the Ender's Shadow series.
