A question for more experience bloggers

My blog has been live for more than 90 days. Actually close to 4 months now. Anyway I am doing paid blogging for PayPerPost, Blogitive, and Blogsvertise and with my page rank only being a big fat 0 I only qualify for the lower offers. Which aren't real bad since I got paid $12 for one post with PayPerPost but I would like to qualify for the higher offers and make more money. So besides the link exchanges which I have been doing and adding my blog to the search engine and blog directories is there anything else I can do to make my PR go up? I just checked my backlinks on backlinkwatch.com and I have 194 backlinks which I think is pretty good. Any suggestions for a higher PR? Also I was wondering if I have to keep submitting my blog to the directories and if so how often? Any suggestions will be much appreciated. :)

Thank you, If you take a look at one of my posts today I had an email offer from a direct company to post something on my blog about them. They are even doing up the post for me. I do get to put in my comment and such and they plan on paying by paypal.

Yeah I can't wait until they update and I can find out what my PR is. If it is high enough I will be making more money with my paid blogging through Blogitive and PayPerPost. Good luck with your PR! :)

Another thing you can do is visit blogs that have the DoFollow plugin installed. What this means is that any comment you leave will automatically give a permanent link back to you. The default blog platforms have nofollow enabled so going to blogs using the dofollow plugin is the easiest way to get backlinks without exchanging blogroll links or having to get on the top commentators list. I've been using that same plugin as well and I've found that the number of comments has increased too. Here's a link to my blog and a link to another blog that provides a list of blogs using the dofollow plugin: http://www.brownbaron.com/blog/ http://manila-mom.blogspot.com/2007/04/reward-your-readers-and-do-follow.html Thanks for mentioning backlinkwatch, I checked and it said I have a total of 13,872 and showed me a list of 1,000. Pretty nice for a blog that's a little over 2 months old lol. Good Luck!

Agimat I saw have visited your two blog and the links on removing the nofollow tag was helpful. I have thus edited my blog to remove the no follow in the comments Thank you again.

See I noticed in my own blog html that it has the nofollow in it. How do I get that off of there and am I even allowed to take it off? Thanks for the suggestion. Thanks for sharing your blog and another one. Would you mind doing a link exchange with me? Wow that is a lot of backlinks you got there. Geez, what I wouldn't do to have that many, lol. And I thought 194 for me was good. My blog has been open for almost 4 months, how did you do it? Your help with this will be very much appreciated. Thanks again and congratulations on all of the backlinks! :)

Hey, Others have already mentioned some of what I would say so I'll add that the page rank only updates every 3 months or so (the last being about a month ago) so if you continue to build it the way you have been the next time around you should see a change. Remember too that the the more relevant and higher ranked the pages are that link to you the better off you will be when it comes to PR. As for directory submissions I'd probably submit your blog again after about 3 or so months - remember that it can take time for blogs to appear after first submission.

Thanks. I do hope I see a change next time it is updated. I figured I would have to re submit to the search engines but wasn't too sure. Thanks for letting me know because I haven't submitted my blog in awhile so I should probably do so again. Thank you very much. :)

Hi thanks and I'm sure if you keep exchanging links with other bloggers then you will get more backlinks too. Just keep learning. When I first started blogging I didn't know what I was doing either but with the help of my friends here at Mylot I did fine and was able to learn how to make it better. I also checked my blogs worth from a link on another bloggers blog and found out my blog is worth more than $14,000! Pretty cool! Thanks for responding. :)

You'll most likely see a page rank with the next PR update that should be very soon.

Yes I now have a PR of 3!! I was so happy when I saw that yesterday. Now I have to work even harder to get up to a 6 by the time the next update comes in about 3 months. Thanks for your response. :)

I think you should also add more content. You should post as often as possible, and have lots of comments. :) A lot of people should visit your site often.

And oh, i forgot to mention that the sites that should be linking to you should also have high pageranks. And, you should exchange links with more people. ;) My pagerank is 3 and I have 429 backlinks, so I guess backlinks really are important. :)

Yeah I do have a good bit of content and I get 20 to 30 visitors a day which I think is pretty good but hopefully I get more soon. I post as often as I can, which is a lot and I get 2 or 3 comments on a good bit of my posts. How long has your blog been live? That's a lot of backlinks and right now I would be happy to have at least a PR of 1. Do you know anything about blog directories? Like how often should I re submit if I have to? Thanks for the advice and thanks for responding. :)
