I guess alot of people are breathing a sigh of relief, now that Sanjaya has finally been eliminated from American Idol. What I don't "get", is why so many people were so upset with him continuing 2 be there in the 1st place? He actually CAN sing (which he proved in the audition), even though his voice hasn't really projected ever since. But, besides that, many other former contestants have been NOT up 2 par as well. AND, I can name PLENTY of well known, established stars, who've been quite successful, who lack vocal "chops": Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, and Diana Ross (all of whom just recently "coached" the contestants), Bobby Brown, TLC, Janet Jackson, Madonna (1 of the biggest stars ever), and even Paula Abdul herself, just 2 name a few. The list goes on and on and on! Being a superstar has ALWAYS been about way more than just a good voice! U must have personality, charisma, stage presence, and that indescribale "it" factor, which, I believe, Sanjaya has, and certainly more so than any of the remaining contestants, regardless of their varying vocal abilities. Everything happens 4 a reason, and 4 Sanjaya, being very unique and quirky, it's probably best 4 him that he DIDN'T go all the way on that show, because u're 2 "boxed in" when u win, 2 connected 2 their whole "machine", and u basically have 2 sign with them, and do what they tell u 2 do. There's no freedom in that equation. I believe Sanjaya will receive better offers on his own. He's been the talk of this season, and probably THE most talked about and controversial Idol contestant 2 date! So, I say it's all good. Don't fret, Sanjaya. U got voted off lucky #7, just like Jennifer Hudson, and we all know what's happened 4 her. Chris Daughtry came in 4th, yet he's outselling both Taylor Hicks and Katherine McPhee, the 1st and 2nd place winners of 2006. I guarantee we haven't seen the last of Sanjaya. I personally enjoyed his ever-changing hairstyles, and I admired his courage 2 keep steppin' on that stage, with all of the constant ridicule he received, and still is receiving. He's got more heart than alot of folks, and that's commendable. Now that he's gone from the show, it will be anti-climactic and boring the rest of the way. Who is everyone gonna talk about at the water cooler now? In my eyes, Sanjaya's still a star!
