One breath at a time - (thanks to cinnabunch for this idea)

In the following conversation of a relationship: (http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/958584.aspx?p=1) that broke up, cinnabunch said, “Many people advise, 'take one day at a time' but sometimes a day seems too long, so I say, Take one minute at a time, and when that seems like too much, one breath at a time.” I found this so appropriate in the light of recent events. It not only applies to relationships between men and women. In the massacre at Virginia Tech, the families of those who were killed will find the coming days long, sometimes senseless, and very lonely. There will be times when the only way they can get through a day is to take a moment, close their eyes, and breath, one breath at a time, until they get to a place where they can go forward a few more steps. It's not only the families of the students who were slaughtered, but the family of the shooter also. Although we may tend to think of them in a negative light, they also have suffered a loss. Maybe in some ways, their loss is even harder than the others. They may not have had anymore idea than anyone else about what their son and brother was really about. Maybe more than anyone, they will need to take life in the next days just one breath at a time.

Actually I do feel sorry for the family of the shooter. Te other families in their mourning will be meet with compassion and love. I am afraid the shoter's family will also have to face shame and perhaps being shunned by other instead of compassion and I don't believe they deserve it.

Well 3rd try to answer this topic.... Mylot is fussy today I guess! LOL What you've reminded us is so appropriate for today's world and all happening in it. Sometimes we just need to step back and instead of trying to see the entire picture, work on one piece at a time. Thanks for the great reminder!
