the reason he stayed much too long as expected at the American Idol was because.......... of Mr. Howard Stern. Stern cursed Simon Cowell, and then did everything in his power to help prolong Sanjaya's reign of tone-deaf terror. thats what the news had stated. wow so this was the reason why sanjaya got the chance to stayed longer than the others who have talents in singing. What can you say about this?

Yup, supposedly Howard Stern hates Simon Cowell, and he promoted for Sanjaya along with votefortheworst.com to keep Sanjaya in there and make Simon angry. It really torks me off, as others who might have stayed could have made a better name for themselves. Think about if Chris Daughtry got voted off in week one or two. No one would have remembered him.

is that so? I really hate it when some of the singers better than Sanjaya was out... He should do that... he was trying to cheat... And to all those people who voted for him instead of the others... dont you have any ears... they are a lot better than him

Poor kid. I was really wondering why he stayed on longer than the others. I though it was becuase of his hairstyle. lol! Really, the kid looked miserable at times on stage that you can't help but pity him. He wasn't exactly tone deaf but he was not really that good too. Anyway, I like his hair.:)

Well, I had heard this in the past, but I truly don't think that is the reason that Sanjaya stayed for as long as he did. I truly believe that a lot of people liked him. I know I did and so did my kids. Remember that American Idol is a show that kids relate too and so they vote. I believe the preteens were voting for him a lot as mine did and all of her friends thought that he was the best! Give the kid his due as to the fact that he wasn't scared to be different and he did make it to the top 12 and that deserves some respect. I feel sorry for his parents with all of the bad publicity that he was given.

i don't think it was just howard stern's posse. my 9 year old daughter went CRAZY over him! all of her little friends voted for him over and over. remember that that age group is huge in determining the winner...they all thought he was dreamy and they liked his voice (they aren't quite as picky as adults!!) i wish the kid lots of luck though i never voted for him personally....can't deny he's def got showbiz charisma for the tween girls

You know what... Look at all the other Idol Seasons. Vote For the Worst has been around for quite a few seasons, and this is why some others have lasted, and Good Singers go. But in all Reality, you will never really know how many people really liked Sanjaya, and thought he deserved to be there. Personality wise, he is one of the Best I have ever seen. And as for a Singer, he was not the Best, I will admit, but I do feel he was better than some of the others who were in the Top 12. I liked Sanjaya. Maybe not for his Singing, but for he was not afraid to Act different. We have not even begun to see the last of him yet.

i respect on what you believe. looking back at the other seasons there are also singers who was booted out but we find them very good singers. example like jennifer hudson and clay aigen they didnt win American Idol but they are popular now. I know that will happen to Sanjaya as well, he has charms too. But for me Sanjaya is not an American Idol material. thanks for the response.

Yes, I have heard this as the reason that Sanjaya stayed on American Idol so long. I simply cannot understand why a person would want a perfectly good competition to be jeopardized. I respect the fact that Stern has openly admitted his game, but that does not mean that I actually have any respect for his game at all.

yes i agree on what you said. and it is also hurting on Sanjaya's part for they thought the reason why Sanjaya was there for long because he is different. Stern is being childish and wants to get even with Simon and using a boy like Sanjaya is not really nice. thanks for the response.

well, we don't know for sure that is the reason...but, yes howard stern did spend quite a bit of time on his radio program urging people to vote for sanjaya because of him being the worst. There is also a website that promotes voting for the worst contestant.

Yes, I too herd about Howard Sterns plot. Well I guess it really worked because Sanjaya has been invited to the "White House" and will be meeting the President.

Yeah, I already heard about Howard Sterns little game. And it just makes me mad. I think that was immature and childish of him. Sanjaya shoudnt have been on that long, people shouldnt have voted for him, who cares what howard stern was saying.

yeah that is being so childish. if he wants to curse Simon, then curse Simon alone. I pity for Sanjaya for he was played with a man who has a lot of money. thanks for the response.

Yes I heard this same thing. It was wrong because some of the people voted off should still be on the show. It was unfair and because of this I really don't watch the show no more. But of course I have never like Howard Stern either. Someone should protest to get the other back on the show that deserve to be there.
