When barefoot, does it bother you that your soles are getting dirty?

I love to go barefoot in the summertime, but if the ground is dirty, I'd just as soon wear my flipflops. If I'm not in proximity to a watersource, where my poor, tired, dirty soles, I get very antsy. I've made it a habit of carrying one of those travel-size bottle of Purel with me, but still, I try to avoid it at all costs.
Are dirty soles a concern of yours? Inquiring minds want to know.

The only thing that bothers me is when I forgot to clean my feet, because I go barefoot all-over our house. Now, if I'd be going to a beach, I won't mind at all. After all, we cannot enjoy our vacation if we try to keep ourselves clean all day, all the time.
Dirt is always our concern, because of our health and for our personal hygiene. May it be on our soles, feet, hands, etc..

You should do what I do, and try Purel. It works wonders on dirty soles, anywhere, anytime! *grin*

On vacation, yes . . . I simply adore walking barefoot on the beach, even if the sand is hot. I love the way the hot grains slide between my toes. Exfoliating goodness, all around!

I can't stand the sight of dirty feet. And I don't much like walking around barefoot. It's only been since I got ill and developed hot, burning feet that I started walking around inside the house in bare feet. I won't walk out onto our back deck in bare feet for fear of getting splinters. It's an old deck. I don't like walking on the cement in bare feet and I have a rule at my house that my children are not allowed to go outside without footwear on. Unfortunately their father has a mind of his own and doesn't set an example to them. They are always asking me why he is allowed to go out without shoes on.
Do I really want anyone walking barefoot on the dark cement driveway and then coming into my house and walking barefoot on my floors? Nope. Footwear please.

There's also the possibility that you might step on a nail, or something even nastier, while walking about barefoot on the sidewalk. I've stepped on a tack once while walking with just a pair of tubes socks on and WOW it hurt FAST!

I think it is great that people can choose to go barefoot whenever they want: admittedly they are always allowed into certain places because of strict rules.
I see no problem with going barefoot, nor with dirty feet. Liberation from shoes or being rebelious with society for being made to wear shoes and feel the discomfort of sweaty feet.
People should feel free to choose to walk barefoot and get dirty soles.
