Ever impersonated someone online just for fun?

Has anyone out there tried to impersonate someone else online but only in the spirit of fun? I don't mean the pedophiles here LOL I just mean the people who, let's say, pretend to be someone else but only because what he or she would do online wouldn't really cause harm or danger. For instance, a male friend of mine had to go travel for five days and forgot to tell his girlfriend that he won't be around for two days. He called me after three days since his departure and requested me to go online, use his email account and send a quick note to his girlfriend. I thought it was okay since at least his girlfriend wouldn't get to worry anymore. There wasn't internet access at where my friend was plus he only borrowed a co-worker's cellular phone to call me. (He couldn't reach his girlfriend at that time) What about you? Ever done something similar?

Can't say that I have. I hate people that try to impersonate other people. I guess in your case, it's okay, but you know how you get people acting like tthey are Britney SPears or someone along that line? I hate that kind of impersonated.

I've never done any kind of impersonation...except in role-playing games, and I suppose that doesn't count! lol I think it was ok what you did, but I wouldn't want to be doing that regularly. Your friend should treat his girlfriend better! He shouldn't forget to tell her he won't be around! That's really not saying much for how much he cares for her. I hope he doesn't ask you to impersonate him too often! Next thing you know, you're his alibi! LOL Just kidding! I wonder if they have ever used something like that in a murder mystery...would be interesting to see how they work it out. I have witnessed someone impersonating a celebrity online once. I think it was really cruel of that person to pretend to be a celebrity causing fans to think she was someone she was not, but I suppose the fans were naive to believe her in the first place.
