Two floors up --- elevator or stairs?

If you only need to go up two floors in a building, do you still take the elevator to do so or would you rather take the stairs? I know of someone who uses the elevator just to get up ONE FLOOR! I find it weird that she has to bother taking the elevator, occupy space just to go up one single floor. What about you? Thoughts?

I'd rather take the stairs, I found out that walking up two to three flights of stairs is the equivalent of riding the elevator. Last week my husband and I needed to go up the third level parking, and we were going to take the elevator, well we took the stairs and by the time we made it to our floor, the people who were waiting for the elevator before were getting off as we walked in. Besides walking up a flight of stairs is great excercise. Saves more time than wasting it by waiting.

Thanks for the comment! As much as possible, I also take the stairs but there really are days when I get too lazy to do so :)

I would rather take the stairs. I don't like elevators. They're too small and I don't like being stuck in a tiny space. For one floor, I'd definitely take the stairs. I'd still take the stairs for 2 or even 3 floors. Anymore than that, I'd probably take the elevator, especially if I'm in a hurry.

My workplace is on the 6th floor. I have tried climbing up the stairs, there were about 18 steps in each flight. When I reached my floor level, it was equivalent to climbing up 12 flights of stairs (normally 8 when I count in most staircases in Singapore flats). So I would take the lift. However, I am annoyed when something went into the lift and press 2, or when the lift open at the 2nd floor when I am going down the lift. It is just 18 steps... why not just climb up or down. I often wonder. I would have just climbed up or down. Saves time and yet at the same time allow me to exercise. What a good deal. Just too bad somebody does not know how to grab the deal. lol.

if it's only two floors up, definitely i'll take the stairs rather than waiting for the elevator to come. it's a good exercise for the heart and body muscles. i can even take three up to four floors if i wanted to, but not more than that anymore.(LOL).

In the mornings, I will take the elevator, so that I wont be tired for the rest of the day. In the evenings, I will take the stairs, so that I can exercise myself.

For two flights of stairs I think I would take advantage of the stairs as a health thing, I think I would use them as my daily exercise, it would be better than walking, my first flat was 3 up and had no elevator so I was pretty fit in those days, it would be very good for you so I say use the stairs for your hearts sake...

I try to always use the stairs. I like getting the exercise, and sometimes it takes such a long time to wait for the elevator anyway, that it ends up being a lot quicker to just take the stairs!

it depends :) when the elevator is empty or there is still enough space for me, i'd take the ride. but if there are alot of people queued to get in it, i'd rather use the stairs. there are also times when i am already tired of going up and down so i'd definitely wait for the elevator no matter where i am going.
