A Belgian auto parts supplier has forbidden its workers to speak any language other than Dutch, even during their lunch break, and employees could be fired if they disobey. People from Italy, India, Poland and Algeria work there. The Company HR says it's to avoid cliques forming here and there. Each time they speak a foreign language, they would be given written warnings. When one gets a total of 3 warnings, they get fired.About 125 employees work there, and out of them 70 are foreigners. They say It's really nothing other than other rules they have, such as a ban on smoking!!!

I think this will improve the Dutch all the employees speak. However it is tough for anybody that doesn't have a good command of the Dutch language. I think they should speak Dutch when working but at lunch time they should be allowed to speak in their native language if they wish to do so.
