Scientology. Thats why you get so many celebs joining up. Suckers pay to become members and the higher ups get the money. Smart but oh so stupid

Religion? I would go back more think about Catholics. What about the religious wars they fought for? They funded more then a small company or a religion with what they have done over the years.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, I do know that the first crusade was based on a pope's lie though. (The king of Byzantine asked for soldiers for Constantinople, and the pope told the knights and peasants that fighting this war would win a place to heaven). The King of Byzantine managed to save a few bucks on mercenaries there I guess!

Why???!!!! I heard one of my officemates say this almost a week ago... :) indeed, the founders of religions do make lots of money. I know of some gentlemen her ein our country who did real pretty good in this "business", and they are quite talented. They are persuasive.

The main reason for this is that religious groups recieve tax free status from the government once they get big enough. In the case of scientology, they 'test' you. They give you tests which you pay about $100 for, which you fail, and then go on to say that you dont possess happiness, there are problems with your general being blah blah. But if you want to get better you should buy the stuff they have, and then come back again and take another test. So they tell you your not well, and if you pay them they'll make you better. That money isnt taxed, so they are free to do what they want with the money. Celebritys are asked to join to spread the religion, and for that they get money. Its really just a big scam

That's really true.... You just have to have lots of guts, charisma and some followers and wala! you got an instant money making machine. I've seen a lot of it some has become cult already because they have lots of followers already.

Ha! That made me laugh when I read your title. It's so true. You can't even find out the basics or the philosophy behind scientology with out buying their book first. If you don't want a religion, start a cult. Like David Koresh (sp?) in Waco, Texas. I bet he made lots of money, before the armed forces blew him up. And if that's not good enough for you, start an online university. Buy a little poperty somewhere in the US, which will be tax free, so you can claim to have a campus. But only offer courses online where students pay thousands of money to get a piece of paper that cost you $1 to print on and ship out.

That's a quote from the founder of scientology, L. Ron Hubbard. He knew he would become rich if he created scientology and alas, he did. Did you know that L. Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer and he started that "cult" from a bet? The beliefs are very similar to a sci-fi novel. And the more money you give, the more information you receive resulting in a higher level of knowledge. Most celebrities are on the highest levels because they have money to give. Like I always say, if you want to know the validity of a religion, study its founder.
