Is this a good parent?

I know a person who forever considers himself a best father in the world while his daughter told me she did not think so at all though she loves his father very much. He works hard to support the family and does most of the housework for his daughter and his wife. But on the other hand, he doesn't give enough respect to them and expect them to obey him on all kinds of things. He takes his family to travel around the country every year, that's good for sure, but it is forever he who decides where to go and what to see, regardless of their interest and feeling. Is he a good parent?

Most men are self absorbed and they still think they are the best fathers in the world. In reality I think you have to spend time with your kids doing they they find interesting even if you don't.

it seems to me that this father is a very good provider for his family and has done above and beyond what most fathers do, and maybe his planning for vacations is what is all that he can afford for the year.respect is earned and I am sure there is alot more behind the scenes that we don't know. like why is the father working and taking care of the household chores when there are two woman in the house, this isn't showing him respect so I would say thatmaybe that maybe the woman have to think about what respect is and why there father is the way that he is.

He sounds like a good parent in the fact that he is providing for his family and contributes to housework. He could be a BETTER parent if he would improve in some areas; more respect for other family members and allowing other family members to help plan family events. Nobody is perfect but he would do better to have an open mind in recieving input or suggestions from the rest of the family.
