Credit card or debit card - which one is best?

Which do you prefer, a credit card or a debit card? Personally, I think debit card is better because you can control your spending, use up your own credit limit and never worry about monthly payment. Unlike credit card, if you use up all the credit limits, you have to pay monthly or the interest and finance charges will accumulate. If you default payment then you will in great trouble paying it on time. Worse if you cannot pay. Well, thats only my opinion, what about you? Ever use a credit card or debit card? What do you find more beneficial?

I agree that it's easier to control your spending if you use a debit card. I like using credit cards but I always pay the full amount on time. I get rewards for using them without paying interest and finance charges. I have redeemed a few free items and gift cards by using my credit cards. However, I believe debit cards have started to offer the same rewards now. Credit card companies would have to come up with more incentives then.

i also prefer debit card because from debit card u can control on ur expenditure and other thinks by credit card u also doesnot knows that how much u have expended on ur thinks thats the big problem

I do have a debit card but i only use it for online purchases and money transfers using sites like paypal, i have never used it in stores because i always use cash because its easier and you can keep a eye on what your spending.

yeah, totally agree! its much better to have a debit card to control your spending... you can have credit card if you're responsible enough to manage your spending... i don't have either, i just have an atm card for my salary but its still a debit card without the mastercard logo! ;)
