I have a very low if any credit rating...and...(this is the ultimate in funny)..

I have a very low if any credit rating and I just got one of those letters in the mail from a bank I don't even go to, offering me a platinum credit card. ROFLOL!!!

You have to wonder whose genius idea this was. One time I thought I would actually try and get it. So I sent the application back. They wouldn't even consider me. Pre-approved is basically meaningless. Or it means we approve you to get the mail.

I know what you mean. I had an offer like that also. Actually 2 of them. One was just a platinum card and the other was connected to your checking account. Basically if you don't pay they take your money.

The bank has given me an overdraft for years. Suddenly they decided they wanted money back NOW, so they gave me this really high interest loan without my even signing for it, to pay back the overdraft. Now if I overdraft even 50 cents they charge me 45 dollars immediately not to mention a 5 dollar service charge plus daily interest. It costs money to be broke!!!

I can just imagine how incredibly high the interest rate is. Some people who are desperate for credit actually use them.

I think that's right. And that's why people get into trouble with credit, among other reasons.
