We have a great pied male, almost one. We saved a 5-month year old lutina almost 2-months ago for them to be freinds. Turns out we had to change Apollo's name to Lilly. Sooo... we don't want babies, they are in seperate cages. They are getting along in their courtship-preening, singing, hissing male attempted mounting. He tail hasn't gone up yet, but it's bound to... probably. We were told to knock him off if/when she does. Thing is we can't do this for years... can we? It seems cruel. Also, he's still our buddy for the most part (her, not so much, yet) will that distance us even in seperate cages? Any Advice?
