how do you react to people who dislike you?

as the saying goes, we really cant please everybody and i think we all know that it really is true. no matter how hard we try, there wil always be a set of people who will disapprove of what we're doing nomatter how noble or how great it may seem to others. for me, when i encounter people like that, who dwell on looking at the negative side of others, i just try to ignore them and give myself a reality check that what im doing is right and good, so there's no need for me to bother with them, the "wet blankets". how about you? how do you deal with difficult people in your life?

I can manage better online by telling people them off in a fourm or an email of what I think of them about the sitution that caused me to get pissed off. I have a hard time doing it face to face. On one of my other forums I go to for my genealogy stuff there was this man that got under my skin and afew others also. I got tired of his verbal abuse and actuacations.. I told him off and then come to find out the owner of the fourm delated him.. She read what I said.. I told her to delate me and that I wasnt going to take his abuse anymore. Come to find out he hadn't been on the forum today so he never read what I wrote in reponse to his other post. But I found his email and I email it to him.

If I have to talk with them face to face..I am like you.. My brain doesn't think correctly before my mouth opens. And I get tongue twisted and I freeze up.. But I have gotten some better with it over the years.

yes, same here! i really dont know what to say when i am being confronted face to face, its like as if my brain has become a peanut butter. lolz. :P and then, i end up looking and sounding all stupid because i cant fight back properly. lolz. :) i guess im much better when im fighting through text or emails. :)

oh, okay. so i guess you are better off expresisng yourself when you are online? well, i think i am a bit similar to you. i am more expressive when it comes to text messaging but when it comes to personal confrontations, i really am no good at it, because i tend to stutter and have a mental blackout when i am nervous. lolz. :P

hmm, yeah, sometimes, we have to just act as if they dont matter so that we wont be affected with our performance especialy if those people who dilsike us are from work or school.lolz. :) who cares about them, reALLY?

I usually feel a resentment towards people who dislike me. If they dislike me, I usually dislike them,too.

yeah, haha. i guess thats an initial reaction. if someone hates us, then we tend to be inlcined to hate them too. i was just wondering how come when someone loves us, its not that easy to love them back. haha. :)

for me i just ignore them a go on with what i'm doing. but i don't show any ill feeling toward them either. i'm that type of guy that hold no grudges to anyone. if they like me then well and good, if not then its also fine with me.

wow, you must really be a good guy with lotsa patience, huh? well, i give credit to you because most guys are like that, they usually dont care if someone likes them or not as long as they're living their own life.
you see, its a bit diferent for us girls because we tend to fight and react in a different way when someone holds a grudge against us. guess its just one of those men and women differences. lolz. :)

As you say, you can't please everybody and I quit trying to a long time ago. Eveyone puts their pants on one leg at a time just as I do and if they don't like me then more power to them. They can go their way and I will go mine and we will get along just fine.
I don't need anyone except my kids to love me and I know that they do!!

hey yeah, you have a point there. sometimes, there really is no point in trying to please everybody because you simply can not! lolz. and i agree, the only ones who matters to me are my family and my close friends and loved ones. :)
