My sister has fibromyalgia. It has to do with your nerves. I think they become so sensitive that they hurt. I know that she is in a lot of pain. She controls it with pain killers but sometimes they bother her stomach so she quits taking them and then it is more difflcult for her to move. Right now it is hard for her to move her neck. That is about all I know.

I suggest that you introduce to your sister sodium ascorbate. sodium ascorbate is an alkaline-based natural vitamin c. it has wonderfully eased me of my pain since i have been using the product at a rate of 2000 milligrams 3 times a day. it will be taken 30 minutes to 1 hour before meals. before bedtime, i usualy take 1000 milligrams more to have a better sleep. there is no fear of overdose because, it is an all natural product. the beauty with natural vitamin c is, the more we take of it, all the more it becomes beneficial to us. from the time i had been taking this product, i had done away with antibiotics and painrelievers. it will also do a lot of good if your sister will include in her daily diet, papaya, pineapple, guava, grapes, apples and mangoes. Fruits may be taken first thing in the morning and as mid meal snacks.

With me, fibromyalgia started with pain in my legs that kept me awake at night. The pain eventually spread. Fibromyalgia patients have great difficulty getting into Stage IV restorative sleep, therefore they wake up feeling like they haven't slept at all. Terms you will hear relating to fibromyalgia are "feeling like you've been run over by a mack truck", "the invisible disability", "the irritable everything illness". One of the theories is that a virus like mono plants a seed that lays dormant until it is triggered by something like a trauma, illness, accident or even childbirth. The symptoms of mono are found in fibromyalgia - fatigue, swollen glands, sore throat, fever, aching legs. The symptoms of fibromyalgia are many including depression, anxiety, trouble concentrating, clumsiness, irritable bowel syndrome, irritable bladder syndrome, heightened sensitivity of the senses (hearing, smell, site, touch, perhaps even taste), fatigue, insomnia, GERD (digestive disorders like acid reflux), ringing in the ears, increased PMS symptoms, headaches, sinusitis, aching joints, aching muscles, muscle spasms, burning and tingling sensations, swollen glands, back ache, sore neck, carpal tunnel syndrome... the list is endless. It is a disease of the central nervous system as stress plays a major role in affecting symptoms. The weather will also affect symptoms as will overdoing it. The best thing to do is learn your limitations, pace yourself and educate yourself. Magnesium is severely lacking in people with fibromyalgia so it is highly recommended taking a magnesium supplement. (Magnesium aids in over 300 bodily functions). Magnesium with Malic Acid (sometimes known as Mag-Citrate) is an excellent supplement that helps ease pain, cramps, muscle spasms. If you think you have fibromyalgia it is best to have your doctor refer you to a rheumatologist who will do a tender points test. There are no clinical tests (blood, x-rays, scans) to diagnose fibromyalgia. Because many of the symptoms mimic other diseases like MS and Lupus, tests will be run to rule out other illnesses.

it is an illness which makes you feel living undesirable. you will feel all sorts of pains throughout the body, from head to toe. the aches and pains are too much to bear. there are times when you desire a massage yet at the slightest touch, it seems like you are being sliced up with a blade. to be able to sleep is such a task so difficult to have because, you are in continuous pain. sleep comes because of the tiredness that the pain has caused you. lately, sodium ascorbate was introduced to me. it has made a turnaround of my condition. this is why i am sharing this informatin with as many persons as i can get it to. grapes, apples, pineapple, mango, guava, papaya and melons will also greatly help in alleviating this condition.

I don't know a whole lot about it, but from friends of mine who have it or their relatives I have heard them say that it is basically aching all over in the joints. Yet if you get tested for arthritis I don't think that will show up, that is how they think it is fibromyalgia. But don't hold me to that, I'm not sure at all.

The way it happened with me is I had constant sharp pain in my neck, shoulders, fingers, wrists, elbows, lower back and hips. Basically, it's pain in all your muscles and joints. It's pain so bad that nothing helps it. Mine was caused by chemicals in cleaning products and by taking Vitality for life vitamins. Now, I've been pain free for two months. It is a disorder of the Hypothalmic-Pituitary-Adrenal axis. FM flares come and go. It is characterized by widespread muscle pain and feelings of all over body aches like the flu. Fatigue is also common. It is a central nervous system disorder. It also involves lack of Stage 4 sleep, which is the deepest level of sleep: that is, it is the restorative kind. TMJ of the jaw joint and Irritable Bowel Syndrome commonly go along with having FM. http://fibroresearch.blogspot.com

Fibromyalgia is pain - all over. There are about 18 (I think) pressure points over your body. Beginning symptoms vary from person to person. Mine started in my hands - I actually thought I had arthritis. A doctor can tell you if you have it or not but the way they check is by pushing on those pressure points. You have to have pain in so many of them for the Dr. to say you actually have Fibromyalgia. There is no cure for it. You just have to find ways to manage your pain - day by day.
