I will go for a Sony camera because it is an old brand that always had good products . I also had to do this decision of choosing what camera to buy . . . As you guess I bought the Sony camera and I am very pleased with it . . . I like taking photos a lot and this camera managed to fulfill my wishes until now . . .

I've never owned either of them. I've always wanted a Canon Rebel, but I have decided to go instead with the Sony Cybershot DSC-W55 because it is so very much cheaper. I don't really need an SLR, I just wanted one, I would much rather save $500 on it.

They're both quality brands but I'm inclined to buy Canon when it comes to photography. If I'm buying any other product like for example a television or entertainment system, I'd go for Sony but when it comes to digital and professional photography, Canon is number one. Nikon is a good brand also. Are you buying one?

It's definitely going to be a Canon for me as I'm aiming for the DSLRs. Having said that, should Sony come up with an updated alpha (Konica Minolta), I would really give it serious thought.

Nikon's D1X and the D1H professional digital SLR cameras established a new benchmark in digital photography. Both models include advanced capabilities for color reproduction, white balance and precision exposure control. The D1X, featuring a 5.47 megapixel CCD and advanced image processing, is optimized for superior image quality and higher resolution, while the D1H is optimized for action photography, with continuous shooting up to five (5) frames per second, making it the fastest and most action-oriented pro digital SLR available today. The models evolved from Nikon's highly successful D1 Professional Digital SLR Camera, which since its introduction in June 1999, has set a new standard for image quality, speed, ergonomics and performance in digital imaging.

I did a lot of research before I moved up to a DSLR Camera and I bought a Canon Digital Rebel. It has the same "guts" as the higher priced Canon DSLR's. I plan to use the money I saved to put toward some good lens for the camera. I would go with a Canon or as a second choice a Nikon.

These two brands are very good and produce some really top notch products. but, i think that i would personally go for Sony CyberShot. Because Sony products are very good. They are small in size but are full of features, they are easy to use, have stylish effects. And they really set you on for the realt thrill.

I owna Sony Mavica Smart Zoom. I am very pleased with it. Yes it was expensive, but in digital cameras I think it is worth the expense to buy the best you can afford.

Why only Canon and Sony? There are other good brands out there. Like Nikon, Olympus, Sigma, and so on. I bough a Olympus E-500 DSLR a few months ago and I'm very happy with it. Most digital cameras today take very good pictures so I would suggest that you go to a store and actually hold the cameras. How they feel in your hand is very important when you are out taking photos. Good luck on your purchase :)

I also support Canon as an option for a digital camera, altough i have experienced various brands of digital cameras (having photography as a hobby). I recently bought a Canon A 630 and i'm very satisfied with it. Lots of features, full manual mode, etc

I would go for a cannon just because it's an established, tried and tested brand for a camera. Sony is good as well as far as electronic goes but I am just inclined to canon because my first SLR camera. Yeah I'm a little biased.

in digital camera, there are two top production that are canon and nikon. in DSLR domain, canon has COMS and nikon has CCD that prodeced by sony.the top DSLR is canon 1ds mark 2 that has 36MM*24MM COMS,however nokin just has 23MM*15MM CCD.if you want to buy a simple DC, canon A630 is your best choice
